Some songs have such an impressive and unforgettable bass line, that the rest of the song seems like attached to it.
Could somebody recommend a vst synth or combination you are using to make recognizable bass .
Examples of what i consider as unforgettable basses:

Well, the first is a mix of DX7 and TX81z, and the second is a Novation Bass Station. Plenty of VST options for FM that'll cover similar sounds to Rhythm... Getting Bass Station sounds is a little harder now Novation discontinued their Bass Station VST, but any SH-101 bass emulation such as either of TAL's, or Lush-101 or Roland's emulation, would probably be close enough.

Thanks for reply.
I've got V-Station and Thorn, will experiment with them.
Made some interesting basses with free synth like synth1,pg-8x and Firebird uploaded here in kvr, which despite lack of advanced modulations are original their own way.
Some synths have interesting combination of subtractive+fm sound, when you can add fm touch and it's useful for bass line.
I am interested more to achieve original recognizable sound now, than technically advanced, cuz sometimes simple bass complete other instruments better.
Cheers

Your examples have no bass line at all… You could that with any drum machine…

I have heard many great bass lines and basses over the decades, the best ones were from the 80's I think. But those in the videos are pretty weak in my view, and not low and deep the way a bass should be.
To me, this is an unforgettable bass and bass line, haven't forgotten it in 40 years

There is even a video where someone explains how it is done.
But I didn't quite understand the portamento part, how that works, from 4:00 to 4:30.

bass line is most underrated part of the song and usually is not widely discussed.
In a band bassist is almost invisible
Dance tracks cover this area mostly with simple bass notes under harmony, but the bass could do important part of the song,if composition is dynamic.
I guess it's style which define the bass line or artist skills and fantasy, but it's really important for final composition.
Sound and melody of bass must complete the rest, otherwise entire composition become mess.

I love those EDM killer basslines too.
Classic basslines such as "Mr Vain", that made 80% of the success of the track for example...
A slightly more modern example would be "Candy on the dancefloor" :

Please don’t read the above post. It’s a stupid one. Simply pass.
