LOL!

If you are using the FX plugin and are also using Nimbus (mutable clouds), let me strongly encourage you to run the nightly. I fixed a bug in our nimbus resampler which was an occasional problem in the synth but a bigger one in the FX plugin

I only skimmed through the messages and I think I saw "the nightly builds" mentioned.
Question: Is using the nightly allowed?

The rules team said yes; and the dev team said yes please! We are close to our 1.1 release and a bunch of beta testers would be greatly appreciated

Thumbs up. Installed it and activated clap support in bitwig ...

A big fat :tu: to the Surge Team for integrating the manual. Very convenient.

It's just never enough is it ?
Well, those are the other 20%, aren't they? :hihi:
Personally won’t be happy til I can Melodyne my bass.

The 'pointy haired boss' is busy running Steinberg, so the Surge team is free to pursue excellence, if not re-defining it in the synth world :hyper:

Hey, I have a technical question:
Let's assume that in the future I would clean up my SoundCloud account. Do I have to leave old OSC tracks or can they be deleted or replaced?

If you remove your track before voting results are announced it would be same as withdrawing from the challenge.
After results have been published its up to you what you do with your Soundcloud track. Removing it would also remove it from the osc soundcloud playlist I think, but would not affect any upload to archive.org as far as I know (if and when we get the archive.org list updated)

On the OSC site, it looks like rounds up to OSC 136 have playlists with tracks served from archive.org, while rounds from 137 on have SoundCloud playlists. Are the entries from those later rounds archived but not yet organized into playlists, or not archived?

I feel like both kinds of playlist have value, but I don't want to remove or change any of my own tracks before the entry versions are archived. (Given my output, I don't think I'll have to do that anytime soon, though.)

It's a good question. I believe we do have all the entries from 137 onwards, ready for upload. Not sure when it will happen though. In the meantime we are relying on the Soundcloud playlists for the website.

do you mean 'update the codebase' or do you mean 'add plugin xyz'?
Last time i added one was cab but if there's a particular one chris added in the last few months they are easy to sweep into the nightly. Just let us know.
I don't have access to my music machine just now but bellow are what i've used a lot in the past.
I noticed some were missing.

Air2, Average, ButterComp2, ChromeOxide, Distance, Drive, DubSub, Dub Center, EQ, FathomFive, FireAmp, GlitchShifter, IronOxide5, Mackity, MackEQ, Monitoring2, NonlinearSpace, pafnuty, PhaseNudge, PowerSag, TapeDust, toTape5, toTape6, ToVinyl

I also had a lot of fun making bizarre noises with uLaw.

maybe take all the AirWindows plugins apart from the Console ones as it doesn't really make sense to have them. :D

RichardSemper wrote: Mon May 02, 2022 2:19 pm I will try and do something this month. What I would love is for something from bjporter. Its been way too long. Maybe we need to give him some encouragement.

I recently listened to OSC #26 (ZynAddSubFX) and the Bjporter track "Stick Em Up I Got A Zyn Supersaw Now Dance" is one of my favorites with a melody firmly stuck in my head! BJ, you shone even at the dawn of OSC, now is a great time to come back and write something from the heart; I am sure that your music will find a lot of responses in the hearts of other OSCers now!

But you, too, Richard!) I am very happy when I see your tracks in the lists, they always have the Mood! I hope for Surges of inspiration from both of you!

Yay! I was hoping this would turn up at some point but didn't expect it to be on my second OSC attempt.

Of your list in the current nightly we include:

Air2, ButterComp2, Drive, IronOxide5, Mackity, MackEQ, toTape6

We don't include

Average ChromeOxide Distance DubSub, Dub Center, EQ, FathomFive, FireAmp, GlitchShifter,
Monitoring2, NonlinearSpace, pafnuty, PhaseNudge, PowerSag, TapeDust, toTape5, ToVinyl

We've been pretty reluctant to include "foo4" when we include "foo5". So for instance there's a Distance2 now we would include if we included Distance. FathomFive is a precursor to DubSub. Etc... We also rejected all the plugins which have latency, since that doesn't seem appropriate for the synth context. But happy to take a peek at these and see if we should add em. @EvilDragon - thoughts on the list?
