Me too. It just felt like the right tool for this job, since I didn't need MIDI at any stage. (Csound doesn't quite predate MIDI, but it's close.)

Me too, but this is very much the easy option. I've tried playing some of the studies on the piano, and it nearly killed me.

Very 'Meccanico' indeed!

Particularly appreciated the nod towards Ligeti's own references to parts of compositions where there was a sense of 'machines having gone awry'.

Very well judged in terms of the ebb and flow of space between the notes.
