Congrats to the winner :hail: and to all participants!

Thank you...Thank you...Thank you...Thank you...Thank you...Thank you...and thanks again for the votes that placed me in a unexpected 4th position :hail: :hail: :hail:

The thing that i love and make me think to OSC as a high level challenge is that first 5 songs of this month are completely different in style and genre. This means that OSCers are open mind and not only near to what they like. This stimulate to produce what we really feel (...we really are) without forcibly trying to please others! :tu: :tu: :tu:

Finally thanks you to Admins, moderators and mainteiners of this awsome challenge to keep it alive

Congratulations to the winners! Glad that some of my favourites are amongst them.
Thank you all for participating, voting and sharing your thoughts.
Thanks to the crew which puts all the effort in this challenge every month.
It's a pleasure to be on board.

j5v wins!
That was unexpected! I voted for some strong '5's there, so thought I'd be behind those, especially when the genre I attempted was atypical for 'synth'. Isn't it an unwritten rule that I'm not allowed to win on my first attempt?

I've found Surge to be a pleasure to design for, and as a tool to realize my ideas. The Surge Synth Team and Discord community are keen to make it a success, and take pleasure in developing it and extracting new fun from it. The roadmap looks great and ambitious, and the best is yet to come. I hope some of you have immersed yourselves in it last month, and thought maybe it's a keeper :)

Congrats to the top 5, and to others. I enjoyed seeing the efforts people made in creative sound design and composition.

I admit to grossly underestimating the time it takes to listen, vote, and comment on all (the last one, I'm still working on).

In the end, it was close enough that anyone near the top can be especially pleased, yet spread out enough that an individual's vote distribution didn't matter. (Sorry for opening up that can of worms)

Thanks to organizers for repeating this competition formula every month, and being fair when the 'missing entry' emerged. I've started following you - many of you have found techniques worthy of exploration - and hope to try here again when I get time.

I should decide a prize, so I'm not holding up the others. "Audio Thing : Outer Space (vintage tape echo plugin)" looks fun, please.

First top ten placement since i have been participating
(it was the OSC #70 in Dec 2014: "Ragnarok").

Thank you for your votes and your honest comments. :hail:

Congratulations not only to the winners, but to everyone who delivered one of these awesome tracks :tu: . It didn't make the voting easy :phew: , but you can learn even by listening to other submissions :phones: .

Keep on rockin'

It seems, that my taste differs quite a lot from the mainstream - none of the winning top 5 were ranked 5 in my list.

But this is life - vive la difference!

Congrats for the winners.

I would like to add: I am not a vindictive person and I do not persecute anyone for grades. :borg:  But it would really be useful for me to have constructive comments from those who give 1 point, please, it helps to develop!

I have not participated in OSC competitions for some time due to busyness, it’s fun to be warmly welcomed again. My sincere gratitude for all the votes. I'm currently experiencing some difficulties in my life, so it means a lot to me. I choose Luftrum Bioscape as a prize.

Leonard Bowman wrote: Tue Jun 07, 2022 1:25 pm A couple folks have asked about how I made my zero instance piece, so I've attached my Reaper project file here.

A couple of important things to note:
1) it's sample rate dependent, so it will sound different if you aren't at a sample rate of 48000.
2) it makes sound even when it isn't playing - you can scrub around the timeline and hold your favorite moment of the song forever if you want. I used automation to mute the very beginning and end though, so return to the start (or open a different window) if you need a moment of silence.
Thanks for the project file (page 22). Unfortunatelly it does render to a very quiet and distorted wav file on my system. Maybe it's also bit-dependent, as I'm using the 32bit version of Reaper.
