most bagpipers are deaf by the time they reach 40.
thats natural justice at work.
(apologies to any pipes players, not my fault you chose something that sounds like a strangled goat)

Aye — a blast o’ jazz from yer bloated goat o’ many pipes!
Yeah, not my thing, but maybe it’ll catch on?

Point being, there are two main elements to consider for this instrument. That is a drone and the solo. Whether combined or separated into these basic elements and timbre as we would any other sample and then layered or expanded upon with other samples, waves or synthetic methods, the basic building block is worth having for the more imaginative sound design. Unless you just can't get past a Scotsman playing Amazing Grace. (Which can cause me to excuse myself from the room also.)

It really does! That flat-out nature of the beast that comes off as a total lack of dynamics in the jazzy thing just really does work with metal IMO.Saffran wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 10:30 pm I think bagpipes and metal work.

Yeah, that solves the mystery. Just so someone is in Minsk I can put it to rest. How are they set for “good bagpipes” over there?
