Thank you! I was once looking for something like this, but so much of what I found was just really bad stuff made to make your track look “professional” on Instagram. This looks cool.
it's probably even better than it looks in my videos
i literally have no idea what im doing, just pick a visual or two, then start clicking various things till it looks interesting.
there's a few different examples in the live playlist on my youtube, including one that has my ugly mug in as a background, just to test photos.
it also takes videos but haven't managed to get them to play back yet, so will hit the manual soon, but so far it's just see what happens!
You pushed me to work with VS. I only got as far as connecting it to 1 audio track and then midi. It responds better to midi, and then of course I could always play it like a real instrument, but if there's a way to send multiple audio tracks to trigger events I'll be happier.
not that ive discovered yet?
have you been using dynamics or spectra? so far im getting better results with spectra, but thinking of using the envelope to bring one in slower and one straight in, haven't really ventured too deep in to midi, just one channel so far, but even that does some fun stuff if you trigger an arp using the whole keyboard :o
although may induce epilepsy.
I've used both. Spectra with the threshold is definitely more useable, but I wish there was a way to set a different spectral focus on different layers.

Right now it seems that you can only trigger the separate layers via separate midi channels.

There's tons of work arounds though, so it's not the end of the world.
I coverted an audio drum loop to midi and then created separate midi tracks, on different midi channels sent to VS to trigger events on separate layers.

And yeah... an arp line could definitely induce an epileptic event. :hihi:

I want to try it out with pads, either audio or see how it responds to sustained held midi notes, versus just setting it up with automation.
yeah, even multitracks for the audio then do them one at a time, import to davinci and edit away!

lots of scope for playing even now, but some updates would be nice, multi input and camera input for live video would be awesome!

Bim arrived! :hyper:

I might be looking for a new small mixer. I don't know if I want to get another Bluebox or something else, but now that I have the white table up, it'd be nice to have it for occasional quick sessions.
The current Bluebox is locked in place until I get around to labeling cables.

The missus’ family does that. They watch games projected onto the neighbor’s home. There’s a perfect place to project on… it’s like it was made just for that!

Think I'm gonna try out the Resolume VJ stuff, seems pretty comprehensive (and expensive unfortunately). https://resolume.com/ still less than that fancy reverb unit,
so doable if worth it.

Does it come with a bag of bbq animals? I didn't notice that. Definitely that would justify the price a little better. :tu:

Hmm ill have a look at that. :tu:
It was hard enough trying to figure out which package to download in the first place. In the end, I decided i probably did not need the media server heh.

Well that was a surprise, there was a WMD Arpitecht with the Triad expansion going for £200 starting bid on eBay so on spec I bid right at the end and it turned out I was the only bidder.

Cool, I have no idea where they'll fit in my rack, but I'm sure I'll work it out.

Are you safe?

i opened 3 copies of visual synth, transitions and recording done through obs :tu:
not sure what the limit on opening them might be, but 3 worked without any hiccups, at least this end :hihi: dunno how it looks in pootube?

Can only watch the first 2 minutes because we've got family stopping by, but damn that's cool, especially at the 1-minute mark. It looks like the red blob is trying to break free, so the tension builds both audibly and visually

Seriously, very cool.

I want to play around with this more, but I'm working on a couple of very chill, non-synthy projects at the moment. It won't be the same... maybe meditative?

i think you could do some nice mandala type things, moving slowly would look cool 8)

this was just random presets too, if it was properly set up, you could using two, build "scenes" as presets and move through them behind the transitions :tu:
