I do think IK couldve beem more efficient and just make nice sounding patches (like Spectrasonics did with Omnisphere) from few sources instead, then adding gazilion of "3 osc saw/pulse/pwm sync on" 100 variants that take up to 1 gygabyte each (some even over gigabyte).

So you don’t like a sample based instrument because it has too many samples and you don’t like presets because you can’t make your own. Is that about right?Lbdunequest wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 12:53 pm /RANT MODE ON
After checking all the presets of whole Syntronik 1/2 i have to say this,
Syntronik 2 is a bloatware. IT has so much samey presets and it takes 200 gigabytes. Diva has more usable and better sounding presets by a mile. Actually most of synths has better and more usable sounds and takes 200 and more times less space. If this software would be 5 gigabytes, i wouldnt be complaining. But most of preset sound so simple and takes up to half gigabyte per patch. I get that the hdd space is cheap, but it takes time to download, it still takes space and it takes time to load. But most of all it takes time to find good or great presets in that pile of shit. Syntronik 2 is a turd package not worth your time and money. I regret spending 34 euros for a group buy.
If you want to buy a rompler and thinking about Syntronik 2, dont waste your money, better save it for a good synth emulation, or even nexus or omnisphere, they will give you much more bang for the money.
It goes a bit off topic but its crazy to see people complaining for something as Sylenth1 being so expensive while being such an "outdated" synth when a piece of garbage called Syntronik 2 exists.

No, i dont like it because space it takes vs what it offers. All those presets that are very similar to each other (if not the same) are overwhelming and makes it tedious to work with.zerocrossing wrote: Sat Jul 23, 2022 1:01 amSo you don’t like a sample based instrument because it has too many samples and you don’t like presets because you can’t make your own. Syntronik 2 is sampled oscillators with modeled filters and DRIFT algorithms that recreate some of the non-linear attributes of synthesized sounds + surprisingly deep editing for an engine with a portion being sample-based. But I think you also knew all of that. And of course you're welcome to your opinion but I do have to clarify the part that is stated as fact but is incorrect.YnJ wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 9:09 pm ok, fair enough, scratch the rompler, not something I'm using much. It's not more than a sample player though, it's not even a good sample player

Hey folks,
For those that hadn't previously used Syntronik, but then got in on this group buy, I'm wondering what your thoughts are a few months after.
For me, the low cost of getting into this Group buy got me really interested in vintage synths and VSTs emulations of them. So Syntronik was a gateway drug for sure. I started looking into Arturia stuff, Cherry Audio, Softube, etc, and picked up some of those on sale, and honestly, I have pretty much abandoned Syntronik. The load times for the presets are a total drag when looking for a sound, and once I got to learn how to tweak sounds on a somewhat 1:1 emulation, I miss having the same kind of control. All in all, still worth the money because it sparked an interest in synths in general (for a guitar player than never really dabbled in them at all) and set me on a path of real joy learning about and using other synth vsts.

I am using it a lot for live performance in my 80s band, but I am not into sound design.
But, some people into sound design have noted that that, in addition to the (limited) on board controls, it is a great canvas to apply the huge number of effects plug-ins that are out there. I am guessing that its lower CPU use allows for that more than modeled synths. But, the post also noted that the sound was sampled without effects so it was a great base to add the amazing number of plug-in effects that are available.

I also got sucked into that group buy, but in the end I always choose a complete model (Cherry, Arturia etc.) over Syntronik. In that sense the marketing worked… I paid for something I don’t use and never would have paid anything without that group buy. But it worked only once…skiltrip wrote: Tue Aug 02, 2022 2:30 pm Hey folks,

I do use the Modo models, Arc and some hardware of IK though.

Yeah I use Syntronik a lot also, but I also like presets and don't do a lot of synth programming. I really like most of the presets. So it's probably more for people who prefer presets and minimal tweaking of sounds.

Too long, I wasted 2 minutes of my life before trying to find an answer, and landed here.glokraw wrote: Sat May 28, 2022 7:02 am Read the page two of this topic, where there is an explanation.

Didn't find any. Please make a sticky as to why it's unavailable on page 1 cheers.

There's no left/right buttons next to the menu to choose the next/previous preset? That's a bit sad.
Great synths/sonic quality otherwise, having a lot of fun with. Good addition to my UVI banks etc.

Not going to happen. IK reworked the underlying synth engine for the Syn V2 presets to have the edit panel. Syn V1 legacy presets are not compatible with this feature.spnc wrote: Mon Aug 29, 2022 5:57 pm "The Edit panel is unavailable for Syntronik 1 legacy presets"
Is there any workaround with this? Even with the latest update 2.0.4?
Cheers.

That would be nice to have, but that's the way it's always been with IK SampleTank and Syntronik instruments.spnc wrote: Mon Aug 29, 2022 6:13 pm There's no left/right buttons next to the menu to choose the next/previous preset? That's a bit sad.

But, the Syn1 synths do have some newer presets that can use the Edit page. These new presets use exactly the same sample files as the old ones, so, maybe IK Multimedia can rework those old presets at some stage.
