Hmmm.. Wine bottle is good idea

But sometimes you have to do your work not at studio. It can be even bus travel with laptop.
Actually, Galactic Assistant is not a bad tool for that.

Richard Devine says in this interview that he uses Chromophone 3 to create UI sounds for Google VR Daydream platform. It's the first synth that came to mind for synthesising sound effects:

I love Chromaphone 3. I have all of Richard's sound packs for that synth! The downside to that is that I usually start with a preset and tweak that, rather than deep diving into the machine.

But I doubt that I would ever come with anything like he does.

He has pure talent for sound design! I also have a number of presets that he has designed for other synths. Plus he probably has one of the best man caves ever, populated predominantly with rack synth gear.

On the topic of synths for SFX, I came across this oddity, Fauna by Xoxos!
Seems it's discontinued and 32-bit only, but I got it working in FL20 (it wasn't working in Bitwig 3.4.4)
