I see some of you are trying to adapt shader stuff, what I would be most interested in is if MilkDrop stuff could be imported or adapted somehow, because there are thousands of beautiful visualizations available and I think it would be great to be able to have them available in this Imaginando environment.
Yeah, I haven't done it yet, but intend to screen record 'MilkDrop' stuff, and use it as a background video, and 'adapt' (manipulate) the VS generated stuff to dance with it. Same with BorisFx particle illusion:

difficult; i had my eye on Imaginando VS Visual Synthesizer, still great, i feel, but Cathodemer seems also very interesting.
Visual Synthesizer is now on sale, it will be on sale again. (not the biggest sale €/$39, and i have some virtual cash, it is now on sale at Pluginboutique).

both have a learning curve, if you want to do more, but Cathodemer can use external sources, which is great.

i don't have to buy them both at same time, i want to slow down buying stuff, which succeeds, but this thread, makes it difficult, because slowing down was meant, for a month nothing, and then something, and then a month nothing..

both, with a VIdeo Editor, which i have Hitfilm (although they suddenly have a different version, i bought the Express artist pack with an additional pack, which suits me... how now to go with Hitfilm, i don't know..).

so, i am writing this, if am speaking out load, to someone, for a response...

EDIT: normally i would make vid's, and with markers, etc. and notes... i will make vids, from own sources, with some effects; i am starting again with this, i was quite well-versed in it, and it comes back; this a simple example, not finished yet, Hitfilm Express Artist + additonal pack for colors;

Wondering if anyone knows the answer to this… on the Prelinger archives… is something that’s listed as being in the Prelinger archives free to use?

I see other videos specifically list that it’s in the public domain.

I’ll post back with an example.

Edit: example of video that only says it’s in the archive (at the bottom): https://archive.org/details/0744_Big_Ci ... 5_35_38_00

Edit2: example of one that clearly states it is in public domain: https://archive.org/details/StaySafe1960

Post

Seems to be slightly confusing.

It looks like some Prelinger content is free to reuse (CC Public Domain), and some isnt.
This collection contains two kinds of material:

Public domain material that you can use according to the terms of the Creative Commons Public Domain license. For details on this license, please click the Creative Commons license logo below. You do not have to contact Prelinger Archives for permission to use this kind of material, if you have downloaded it. If you need higher-quality material or a written use agreement, please contact us (see below).

Other material that does not carry a Creative Commons license. If you wish to use this material in a project or production, please contact us for further information.
However it looks? like what they're saying is that despite it being public domain, if you want to use them legitimately/safely in copyright terms, Getty can license them.
FAQ
Q. If films on Prelinger's website or Internet Archive are in the public domain, why do I have to pay for them?

A. Prelinger Archives allows free access to many (but not all) films from their collection on the Internet Archive site. However, the Internet Archive does not provide written permission to use any material, and the user therefore assumes all risk when repurposing Prelinger footage. By way of contrast, when you license Prelinger clips from Getty Images, Getty Images will indemnify you against claims for copyright infringement relating to copyright in the footage clip. Getty Images charges for this service.

Thank you!

I guess best practice is, when in doubt, contact them?

I have a fun, possibly dumb project idea for what was just my first Pulsar-23 jam.

Not sure how much time I wanna spend on it asking permission to use things, so I’ll dig deeper for only the public domain stuff.

The longer idea is mostly animated, but I’m reminding myself repeatedly that’s a stupid idea as I don’t really draw anymore, let alone have the time for such a project.

It’s just a jam.

**EDIT** I re-read what you wrote, and I see what you mean.
Even if it's listed as being in the public domain, if I use the content, I assume all the risks if it's not really in the public domain.

I'm kinda getting the drawing bug again for the first time in a while. Seriously considering getting one of these actually. Whoohoo! A fairly big buck item. :dog:

*Disappointed that Adobe doesn't include the 3D stuff in the full CC sub, pretty lame. I woulda
ponied up for all of it for a while at least. :(

I will always lust over these. They’re great to draw on. The iPad has never had the same feel but it beats out my old Wacom Intuos experience.

If you can justify it, get one. You’ve got skills from what I’ve seen.

Yeah, this would only be the first wacom tablet I've owned that had the screen built in. I hadn't
been paying attention tbh, didn't know they made them actually. AFAIK they only had the tablet pc version which was always stupid expensive. This one is not cheap, but it's not bad vs their pen
computers.

Anyway, I can't do anything without a drawing tablet, painting, 3D sculpting etc.

*Thx btw... You got some skills as well imo, that make noise intro was badassed :tu:

yes get it, i got it, not mentioned here, i think... in the previous sale, via Plugin Boutique, almost most the same price. the sale i mentioned in the post you quote, eventually i thought, this is great, a supplement to what i already can do.

a good price, for good plugin.

i did buy the retina pack, because it also includes... materials.. not only presets... the presets i can make myself, but the materials, not.. yes with a bit code changing, trial & error.

the retina pack is, in €..., €3,40 (you americans do the point, we do the comma...), now with 666. nice.

more to play with..

and imaginando, does do quite some updates and is quite responsive...

Post

(psst im not american)

yeah i was looking at picking up the retina pack at some point :tu:

been trying to fathom materials for myself, but it's not going well :hihi:
