Too much analogs! No love for digital synths?
There's a lot of beloved, much anticipated digital synths from late '80, early '90 waiting for being emulated. Come'on, let's advocate for some digital stuff...
And I think Arturia has the potential for making deals with original makers, for licensing wavetables, algorhythms, etc.
PS has anyone said Yamaha SY-99 yet?!?

pigments is hybrid, how about dedicated granular synth, cheaper and only granular, like Fragments but to load samples, that will be nice

tal-Bassline-101 is a really great 101 emulation. i sounds fantastic imo.chintimin wrote: Sat Aug 27, 2022 7:56 am I don't think we'll get it? But I really want a solid SH101 and 303 emulation.

I read this "sameness " type comment quite often when it comes to software VA emulations. I honestly wonder if those comments would persist if people participated in properly designed listening tests.hebex wrote: Mon May 16, 2022 3:30 pm
I´ve lately tested, among others, Falcon, Cherry, Serum, U-He, and this last weekend I tried the Arturia V Collection 9, and all sound fundamentally the same, with relatively small variations on the same theme. Some have a bit more compressing going on making the sound a bit snappy but at the same time more (painfully) sharp/digital to the ear, some sound a bit less sharp, but at the same time more dull. It is like something limits the sound from opening up, they all sound dull or too digital and sharp, especially when you stress them with simple cut off filter treatment, resonance, or whatever.

I have a JoeMeek channel strip, same comp asin sc2 I think. Preamp is nothing to write home about, compressor sounds fine but I don't think it's that special.
Maybe I'm wrong and sc2 sound way better than the one I have.

The classic Joe Meek SC2 is very nice and good on the 2bus.https://djfletcher.co.uk/2005/04/30/joe ... 1995-2003/

I have the one on top. It's fine. I have heard about the SC2 magic but I have no experience with it.Septic Underground wrote: Sun Aug 28, 2022 9:57 am The classic Joe Meek SC2 is very nice and good on the 2bus.https://djfletcher.co.uk/2005/04/30/joe ... 1995-2003/

Both of these have been emulated far better already than arturia would do. The softube 101 and the tal 101 are excellent. The 303 is covered by abl3 and also the upcoming phoscyon 2. Arturia wouldn’t match these.chintimin wrote: Sat Aug 27, 2022 7:56 am I don't think we'll get it? But I really want a solid SH101 and 303 emulation.

Well, they did SQ-80V after everyone missed SQ8L. PG-8X doesn't look dead yet, with an update in 2020, so I don't foresee JX-8V any time soon.
If it's to be a former bargain bin, now overpriced collectible, DCO, CEM3394 or hybrid digital wave/analog filter synth... I wouldn't look at the ones that were trademarked by big corporations like Korg or Roland who have their own virtual analog products. What I could see would be a Kawai K-3V, Oberheim Matrix-6V, maybe one of the European DCO synths.
Or just a lot of updates to their older code.

Something along this line, yes. Eventually major top seller synths would get emulated (or re-emulated), and also some uncanny territory covered.biscuitdough wrote: Sun Aug 28, 2022 11:46 pm Well, they did SQ-80V after everyone missed SQ8L. I predict a milestone which puts the rest of their oldest legacy coded synths into state of the art. Modular, 2600V, and maybe Mini-V.
Also predict some steps towards a drum solution, maybe a Spark 3.
What I think also looks logical, is to build more on the Korg partnership, and include one from their polyphonic instruments. Safe investment would be one of the Polisix, Poly-800, or Monopoly, instead of Trident or PS.
In this light, my earlier candidate, the JX-10 looks less likely, but still consider it a valid one.
+1 for European DCO!
