We turned my studio's my live room into a temporary kitchen while they demolish half of our house.

I won't be tracking drums anytime soon
, but I think I can still manage to set up mics for vocals or smaller acoustic instruments. Luckily most of my upcoming gigs are editing, mixing and mastering projects.

You should sample that fridge door opening and closing, microwaving some popcorn, blending some smoothies,... Could make for a cool concept album.justin3am wrote: Tue Sep 13, 2022 5:22 pm We turned my studio's my live room into a temporary kitchen while they demolish half of our house.

I actually have a toooooooon of samples of all sorts of household items, as well as like creaking floorboards, squealing hinges and whistling vents. The house was in a bit of disrepair when we first moved in and I insisted on recording all of the weird sounds it makes before we started doing any work on it.
I don't often use those libraries in my music but I have used them in projects for clients.

Twisted some sounds until they screamed out for mercy.
I showed them none.......

Sequencing CV into MS20 filters etc, it's capable of some very funky drum sounds. Kind of wish I had a big subwoofer to take full advantage.

The little 2hp VCO arrived today. Didn't get much time to play with it as I'd done a 12 hour work day, but what I did was fun.
Especially liked using it as a bass voice paired with Vult's Freak (emulated in VCV Rack), lots of great squeaks and snarls. But, it brought something to mind - it sounded really great when I manually played with the filter in a rhythm. Ideally I'd want to record what I was doing with the filter cutoff CV somehow so I can play it back on a loop. Any recommendations on how I'd do that either in VCV Rack maybe passing through CV from a Faderbank fader or directly hands on in hardware eurorack? Am I right in thinking that's something you can do with the Intellijel Tetrapad?

there are cv samplers such as marbles, but ime seems more of a quantiser, and steps through...
however, in modular, audio and cv are equal for all intents and purposes, so i believe, so could a sampler record cv data and output it in a loop?
ive never tried recording cv automation but i have used delays on controls to mess shit up a bit.
so maybe??

More torturing of small defenseless samples.
They squealed like a pig in the squelchy darkness known as Kontakt.

Added some ‘pew pew’ synare sound to a ‘digital’ style reggae riddim.
Recorded a kick drum from the RYTM on another track.
Plugged in my Fender Twin Reverb that I haven’t used in a long time, sounds so good, gonna start using it more.

Since I use Bitwig with DC coupled interfaces, I can write automation in my daw and send it out as CV or record CV as audio from my modular and send it back out. That's the easiest way for me.vurt wrote: Thu Sep 15, 2022 5:40 pmim sure justin or foosnark (autocorrect says foodbanks) will be able to answer better...WatchTheGuitar wrote: Wed Sep 14, 2022 10:47 pm The little 2hp VCO arrived today. I was using a Dnipro Krait for tempo sync'd knob recording but it was in my Shared System. Some samplers will record DC signals so they can be used as CV recorders. I'm sure there are probably VCV modules for that kind of thing.
