Now there's only 35 files since I removed the two old program buttons and used the regular dark button instead.

Thanks. the only thing now though, is my brain is accustomed to the up button on a lot of other synths to decrease the patch number not increase it :)

You can easily change that by editing the V-Station.xml file.
Go to lines 571 and 575 and switch the y values so you have y="502" on line 571 and y="470" on line 575:

Code: Select all

        <control class="PresetButton" x="70" y="502" stack_off="2" stack_push="3" stack_on="1">
            <resource fn="button_no_leds.png" stacks="2" stack_direction="horizontal" />
            <param_binding id="163" ref="patch inc" />
        </control>
        <control class="PresetButton" x="70" y="470" stack_off="2" stack_push="3" stack_on="1">
            <resource fn="button_no_leds.png" stacks="2" stack_direction="horizontal" />
            <param_binding id="164" ref="patch dec" />
        </control>

That's been a point of contention in other synths as well.

One school of thought is if you hit the Up button the loaded patch should go from say 4 to 5. Up being used to raise the number.

The other school is that since most synths keep their patches in a list, pushing the Up button should move back up in the selected list from 5 to 4 since 4 is higher up on the list, as you are accustomed to.

It's good that in this case the preference can be changed to the individual user's taste in the .xml file. Perhaps all synths should have an on-gui option to set the behavior of the Up/Down buttons if they have them. :tu:

Synth1 is resizable...so it's not a real problem for me.

Those I would like to see with bigger new skins are Dune 1/CM and refx vanguard
I know they both are skinable

Is it even possible to skin DUNE1/CM? 🤔 With bigger GUI 😍

Branis if you are sufficiently bored and have the time.. if you can give a treatment to B-Station too it would be nice.

thanks

Just a note to those thinking they were remembering wrong.
V-Station definitely had a drop down menu in the earlier versions. It was a bit clunky though and one of the reasons I originally dumped it. It was one of the things I found annoying about my X-Station also and that got me to sell it too. But the drop down was better than no menu at all as it is now. However, the sound quality is much better now. Trade offs I suppose, but a preset browser was something I also hoped for.
And... A big +1 on giving the Bass Station the same treatment.

I think I misread something here. Did you say the X-station keyboard has a drop down menu?

No. Sorry for the confusion.
The X-Station had an incremental/scroll wheel up/down. Which is annoying. Same as this new version of V. The difference of course is that this at least is free.
A real browser would be most appreciated.

Doesn't it require using a resource hacker on the .dll for the Windows version?
