Hi all,

Hope it's not too late and can catch up with the BF sales. I am more on EDM drum sounds but now I am looking for Drum VST (e.g Toontrack kind of drum VST). Don't have any idea on this kind of non-EDM drum VST so I'd like to seek your advice if it is on sales and can cover the music genre that I mentioned in the subject.

thanks!

You’ll get the usual replies here - there’s a few good options each with their own supporters.I’d go for EZ Drummer 3, sonically nicely diverse with exapansions covering everything under the sun. Their more recent packs are actually sampled in quite some depth (I just got UK Pop in the sale, 11 hi hat articulations for 3 hats for example). I’m in love with the grooves, all played by real drummers, you can search by the brilliant Tap2Find or it can even suggest for you based on your midi or audio, and it’s very easy now to combine elements and all sorts.

Superior Drummer is even better for customisation, but it’s quite a lot more expensive and the software isn’t quite as up to date as EZ Drummer.

Yes Toontrack do a lot of metal, but there’s still stacks of good options without opening that particular door.

Toontrack lost my business when they decided to force everyone to upgrade by eliminating the upgrade path between EZD 1 and 2. They are pretty lame imo. The stuff is pretty good though, no doubt.
