Hi. Im looking for a great plugin sequencer that I can unlock from the DAW temp clock and set the tempo to "free" time or modulate it, etc.

Most vst sequencers can use their internal bmp instead of the host. Have a look at the HY sequencers. Pretty certain you can automate the tempo.
