Hi. Somone here with GUI problems with the new VST3 NI products? Neither Super 8 r2 nor Massive X are population the screen. I tried on different DAW and nothing. See the photos

I read that there are issues with some beta/alpha/whatever version of Live with the NI plugins. Are you using such a version?

Post

I have no such problems with Live 11.0.6. I have a monitor with 1440p.

Post

Live 11 is having problems with some VST3 plugins (for me, have had multiple crashes with Zynaptiq, HY-Plugins, and Blue Cat Audio). Someone just suggested in another thread to stick with VST2, generally, as they tend to not be on the forefront of bugginess, generally.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

It seems this experiment, whatever it was exactly, is coming to an end. Super 8 will return as a Reaktor ensemble:

A bit of a shame, imho, I would’ve loved to see stand-alone versions of Form and other Reaktor instruments. That being said, I’ve started to group frequently used ensembles in Ableton Live so I can open them directly, and usually save own sounds with the DAW project anyway, avoiding any snapshot hassle.

I just hope NI managed to gain anything from this approach and that it wasn’t a complete waste of resources.

Too bad... now I'm glad I didn't buy Super 8. I would have liked to see Form and others as regular plugins. Now that seems unlikely given this news.

Wth...
I never used Super 8 in Reaktor form, in vst3 form it got some use.

Was looking forward to its continued development.

Yeah, no kidding. I was wanting a new version as that coulda been a contender. Wish I hadn't spent that $50, in retrospect. Think I'll try to sell it (for a loss, but better than nothing).

My NI use is now down to Kontakt and only Kontakt, and never more. Also minimizing all use of all Soundwide products, with a goal of substituting something else for all of them except Kontakt over the next year.

Another irritating move by NI. I much prefer the vst3 version. Nice interaction on touch screens. I was looking forward to monark and others as standalone plugin.

Post

I prefer it in Reaktor form as you can massively pump up the audio rate and get a much better sound. This was only really a test plugin to get the VST3 ball rolling.

Hard to believe NI is a company with hundreds of employees... We're in 2022. All plugins should have resizable GUIs.

Interesting. I wonder how they want to approach the transition. Will there be an update which removes the VST3, and adds it as a Reaktor ensemble?

Post

Not sure that is technically possible. I imagine everyone with the vst3 will a license for the reaktor one. (I think when it was released the opposite happened).
