I'm looking at two different options to cover the Hammond Novachord.

I've come across two different solutions and was wondering if anyone else had any opinion of these two. One is a rack extension for reason but can be used the same as a VST with the rack plugin.

Champagne Supernova

and

Novachord
https://www.soniccouture.com/en/product ... novachord/

I am leaning towards the second option as it covers the most common sounds, but wanted some lowdown on a comparison between the two and would be most thankful for any input.

I would have thought the Novachord would be a perfect candidate for physical modelling. I thought at first the Champagne one was but then it mentions waveforms so I guess it's at least partly sample based

There was a Novachord library from Hollow Sun.
AFAIK it's still available on his page despite his passing away some years ago.

I heard about the Hollowsun one from ages ago, but never looked into it.

How does this compare to the Sonicouture one?

Champagne Supernova waveforms are inspired by the Novachord.
The SonicCouture one is sampled from the real thing plus is basically two instruments in one, a proper Novachord and a double layer hypothetical modern Novachord.

Nonetheless Champagne has some quirky options like per-note detune and filtering but it sounds more lo-fi than vintage.
SC Novachord, unsurprisingly, is deeper and more pristine.

I somehow bought the Sonicouture at that time.
Seemed a bit cleaner and less FX driven than the HollowSun one.
But that was more a feeling than an analytic decision.
However I've sold it a couple of years ago because it doesn't fit into my style of sound.

Note that HS has two Novachord Kontakt libraries. The one referenced in the link above is 50 pounds. But they have another one, Novalite, that I actually think is a little better that costs only 10 pounds.

Also, for a modern, clean Novachord sound, MeldaProduction MSoundFactory has a novachord instrument, Novachordesque, in the factory content.
