When you go to their website you'll see a number 5, followed by Spring 2023 - The Revolution will be Amplified, and Headrush

I have Revalver 4 and use it quite a lot, so it sounds interesting

I followed the link and there's nothing there but an old sales page for Revalver 4.

I got V4 in 2014, and it was great then, with the ability to load third-party VSTs in the chain, and to tweak sounds at the virtual electronic component level. Sounded pretty good, too, as far as I remember.

But it's been a dead thing for a long time. If I remember correctly, it got acquired a couple of years ago by InMusic, and then.. nothing. I'd be interested in an updated, modernized Revalver.

Look at the top of the page, it definitely seems it's going to get a revamp, and Headrush somehow seems to be involved

It seems that ReValver is incorporated into Headrush Prime.

@GreyLion - hey, have you seen what’s happening with Digitech Bad Monkey prices lately? Crazy man, your Bad Monkey stash would really pay off now! ;)

Hey, guitarzan - I do a have couple of Bad Monkeys using up my gravity here. I'm about to fire up a new pedalboard, and I think one will be on it. Weren't you the one who sold the Humphrey-modded Badder Monkey to me? It does sound delicious.

I just now hit Reverb, and those BM prices are kinda ridiculous. I wonder what happened in February to make the curve shoot up like that?

On Revalver -- Interesting. From that GP announcement, it looks like they're saying they'll just use the algos in a Headrush pedal. I could see them walling it off that way if they think it will be more [profitable. OTOH, an updated vst would sell, too, I think. I'll read deeper into the thread this weekend.

Yeah, I sold you the Badder Monkey. Josh Scott of JHS pedals did one of his asinine YouTube videos trying to get across the point that you don’t need a super expensive overdrive like a Klon and that you could a good sound out of even inexpensive pedals and somehow that turned into “Bad Monkeys are the next Klon” in the minds of his minions and now we’re in a full blown Bad Monkey bubble. Strange times.

Interesting that they are using ReValver in a hardware unit but I lost interest soon after Peavey bought ReValver. Myself and several other KVR members were on that test team for ReValver 2 when it was still Michael and Alien Connection and stayed on through the transition, but it just wasn’t the same when Peavey came in I think around 2.5 or 3.

It might have something to do with this video:
https://youtu.be/pFOD6s0IRoM

Everytime a discontinued pedal is featured on the JHS show, prices skyrocket for a couple of weeks.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Oh, that's hilarious, about the price spike being caused by a vid. Us guitarists are such suckers about the infinite quest for the magic gear that will make us talented.

That said, I've been thinking about getting a Tumnus because of so much hype lately about the Klon and the Klones. :hihi:

I asked them and they said ...

As you can see on our page, we've just announced ReValver 5 so, yeah it is definitely coming out ;).

Yeah man, I was working with Michael even BEFORE ReValver on his audio editor Pristine Sounds.
I was on team ReValver from day 1. The ability to load 3rd party VST's and IR's were both suggestions of mine that Michael implimented, (much to my delight!). My name used to be on the splash screen. Then Peavey just let it wither on the vine....when they shoved it over into their, (pretty much defunct), brand Audio Media Research.....I fully expected it to just die. Michael himself let me know about the Headrush/ReValver marriage. I don't know....we'll see. I'm a bit wary of inMusic and their practices. HeadRush is based on Eleven's tech....that was a resounding failure. Eleven is basically useless unless you're a ProTools user. And I'm just not a Digidesign/Avid fanboi.

Market over saturation IMO. TH-U is really excellent and Amplitube recently raised the bar with ToneX. What is Revalver 5 going to bring to the table that the competition isn't already doing?

That was a great thing, being a tester during all that. My name used to be on that splash screen too.

So Michael is still involved? I tried leaving messages twice at the new site to find out if that Magnatone Stereo Vibrato model was still available in any form or if older versions of ReValver could still be downloaded and didn’t get any reply.

As far as I know those older versions of ReValver are the only source for a modeled Magnatone stereo vibrato — an essential ingredient for copping authentic Neil Young tones. I have the Big Tone Music Brewery Maggie pedal which is excellent, but I’d still like to have an in-the-box NY rig, just because.

We'll see. Revalver 4 is small compared to TH-U, it does have some interesting features though, as instrument modelling

Hey bud! Yup those were some funtimes for sure. Yes, Michael is still the main dev.....just working for inMusic now. I had not heard from him in years. I think maybe Peavey may have slapped a gag order on him. We more than just worked together we often chatted about other guitar related stuff. I was actually beginning to worry about him. Sweden did not handle COVID well....they went for the "flock immunity" approach, (guess they have more seagulls than cows...LOL!), and I was starting to fear for his life. His right hand man at Peavey Junior Paiz left Peavey after they sent R4 to it's AMR graveyard. Junior was then able to respond and assure me that Michael was indeed ok and that ReValver development would continue. Talk about a ressurection! As to your questions about R4.....I really don't know. I haven't actually fired it up in some time. After development, (and communication), had ceased for a few years, I finally moved on like most everyone else. I'm going to have to dust off my USB key and see if either Peavey servers are still active or if it's been moved to inMusic servers. I was just going to wait for R5, but now you've gone done made me curious......LOL!!

ROCK ON!!

Cheers......CL :clown:

I didn’t see any mention of that Magnatone vibrato after about version 3, version 4 was out when I was trying to contact them and it wasn’t listed anywhere as far as I could tell, not even as a seperate thing you could purchase to add-on. Maybe I should try again now that they’re not Peavey anymore. I don’t think Peavey particularly liked me , maybe because of all the Peavey amp insults.

I probably don’t even have any way to register anymore even if the vibrato were still available, but I’d be tempted to buy it just for that damn MagnaVibe.

EDIT: I still have the email with my ReValver II serial from 2006. I wonder if I could still use version II if I could find it somewhere?

Still have version I serial too, but that goes back too far. I think II or possibly II.V was my favorite, whichever one it was right before the Peavey amp model infestation.
