I don't how some people have like 6 codes for a certain plugin, where do they all come from? Just curious.
I can see having one plugin/serial, but then later on you end up buying a collection of plugins that includes that same plugin/serial, and so now that one serial is extra, etc.

The ones where you see large multiples of codes like that are almost always the ones that were given away for free. My assumption is that they are nabbing the freebies with a variety of email addresses and stashing them away. The bigger question is why someone might do that? Seems like a bit of a hoarding instinct behind it. With the Waves, perhaps they were stashing them away and planning to activate 1 per year rather than WUPing.

Do you like to listen to any music or do you like some music more than other music?
If you like some music more, then that is your taste.
You can use that same taste you use to choose music you listen to when making music yourself. You already have that skill.
You sit down at your keyboard and start playing. You have to listen to your instinct what are the right notes.
Use a keyboard and play live. It requires a lot of experience to do the same with a mouse and it is not fun and will never be the same.
Timing does not matter. Your DAW has quantize.
Dissonant notes do not matter. You have time to develop your melody by playing it over and over and keep changing it until it feels right. If you dont want your neighbours to hear a clumsy beginner, use headphones. You can pick a scale first if you want. Put those colored dot stickers on your keyboard, us a plugin that redirects or filters notes that are not in the selected scale or use a controler like ableton push, novation launch pd, presonus sq, or an ipad app where you can select scales. Then you cannot play dissonant notes.
At first listening inside yourself to find the right notes may seem hard. This will get easy within weeks or months. Have a bit of patience.
Do not listen to youtubers who repeat tactics that other youtubers have talked about. None of them can write music.

Thanks for making me aware of this, I tried again earlier and it didn't work. I picked up bx_refinement last night. It may be a jazzed up single band EQ at its core but it instantly improved the sound of my mix and made me aware of some problem resonances I didn't pick up until I bypassed it. Works great as a second pair of ears.
Also I noticed PA bumped up the price on a lot of their plugins which were $20 last night...so they know what they're doing.
