Downloaded and installed the Flowtoners bagpipes. It seems work fine in my Windows 10 laptop.
But, when I did the same thing in my Windows 11 laptop, it would not activate.
The error message says (more or less) Gig Performer cannot load a non-validated plugin. Check with the developer.
Any ideas?
Jeff
PS: Maybe antivirus?

1. There is Celtic Era 1/2, uses "engine 2" as VST. ERA 2 also has a couple bagpipes. Dark Era has "pictish pipes"
2. Universal Piper "free", but has dropouts unless you buy it. Has tons of different bagpipes
3. UVI has a world expansion for falcon/uvi player which has bagpipes.
4. Ethno world 6 also has some bagpipes, uses Kontakt.

I just read through this thread again. I am surprised that no one (as far as I saw) mentioned the bagpipes included in the Kontakt (6) factory library. (Actually the SIM-BP vst was pretty close to perfect for this song I was doing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhMO9azmKNU), but for some reason it worked (via Gig Performer) in one of my laptops but would not scan right for the other one)

The fact that bagpipes were originally created as a weapon to inspire fear in the enemy (and perhaps a few of the friendly troops as well?) says pretty much all one needs to know about them.zerocrossing wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 6:34 amI kid, but there are times when I really love a good bagpipe. Like when you have to put your first officer into a photon torpedo and shoot them into a proto-planet or when your walking past the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Half Moon Bay and they have a bag piper walking the grounds at dusk.vurt wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 5:38 amzerocrossing wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 5:35 am I think the world needs good bagpipes, but more importantly, the world needs bagpipes to be good.
secret to making bagpipes sound great.
fire.

I do actually love that sound.

Rufus Harley was one of the very few jazz pipers. Here he is with Sonny Rollins:
