My opinion, is that you should just stop developing OB-Xd. Just keep it available for download, and host presets, and have links to whatever other versions exist. Move on without drama, to new and improved products that will make money without controversy. Life is too short to spend any of it on endless licensing debates.
My money would be interested in high quality content, like soundfont and sfz packs for Discovery Pro and Bliss, and new targeted preset packs that well cover specific types of audio. And a pair of best-of-breed arpeggiators integrated in all your synths.
Cheers

Our team has recently made a minor update to the macOS icon that brings it up-to-date with the latest Big Sur style. Now, you can enjoy an even sleeker and more modern look

Bot or not I find DiscoDSP's behavior of late to be quite distasteful. George has lost his humanity.....and a customer.

George's just taking the major piss here, chaps. This cynical bot crap sounds totally like something he would do. I'm not at all surprised. It's in the character.
tbh, I wouldn't call George's own replies humane, either. I think we've ever seen mostly sarcastic, caustic, passive-aggressive, anti-customer, sociopathic shit from him so far, so the bot here ain't performing much worse than him, anyway. He probably couldn't afford a professional human social media rep, so he went his usual cheapo way and came up with this bot nonsense. Typical.
But, first he employs it on KVR forum, next time your reach discoDSP support and the bot will be there too. And whenever you should ask, George will be "constantly unavailable" on "permanent vacation", just like he is at this very moment. Quite convenient, really.
Well, be my guest, but as long as this bot fockery continues, I'm gonna go with Teksonik fella on this one. If we as customers encourage this crap monetarily, we may just as well be deserving of it.

I want to be fair here. George was known as being gruff. I’m sure he was aware of it. He probably was hoping that using this bot would improve the quality of his responses—I don’t think English is his primary language. I can be very understanding and appreciative of this desire and goal. However, the bot responses are not an improvement of the previous situation, and so it seems it would be best for business to recognize that it wasn’t the best decision, even if it had noble intentions, and stop the bot use. I prefer to speak to George directly, and not through the interactions of a bot.
There isn’t much DiscoDSP provides that I can’t get elsewhere—my primary reason for continuing with DiscoDSP is because he supports Linux. I want to support those companies that support my platform of choice.
I can look beyond the gruff but in person support for this reason. However, replacing a gruff human with an annoying bot is not an improvement. I don’t like the challenge/response software installer either. I prefer serial or keyfile or watermark authorization. That move has almost made me abandon this company as well—but I’ve kept on supporting the company because of the workaround for backing up the plugin files without the installer. I don’t mind paying periodically for major upgrades. I like that the software is well maintained. I like how bugs are usually fixed quite quickly.
So, in short, I don’t like the bot—I prefer George over the bot. I don’t like challenge response on anything—even the installer. I don’t mind paying for major upgrades—I don’t like subscription-based software, so paying for major upgrades is best for me. I like the Linux support.
I am watching to see how everything goes. In my opinion, Bliss is George’s strongest, most powerful product. But I can do well even without Bliss these days if needed. I’m not ready to abandon DiscoDSP, but I’m not happy with the new change (the bot) either. I will watch and see what happens. The choice is all up to George as to whether his company’s number of potential customers will grow or shrink.

Probably a lot of people agree on that. I think it's good enough as is, especially with modern effects chains, but a fork exists if someone wants to develope things further. These discussions won't help discoDSP, and tend to keep bleeding and breeding diviseness over 300+ pages. Whereas moving on to profitable new projects without looking back, would be better for the business. There isn't really any 'drama' beyond some posts in this thread, certainly not enough to warrant ceasing development.

OBXD GUI doesn't open up on MBP M2 Max in Ableton Live, and the synth doesn't respond to midi. Same issue as previous version.
Anyone else experiencing this? Love this synth, missing not being able to use it
(I emailed DiscoDSP about this earlier).
