A couple of quick points regarding UAD Native plugins:
- Activation is either iLok Cloud/Dongle - no machine activation.
- License transfers are not allowed for Native plugins. (this was posted by someone here few pages back as well)
https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articl ... D-Plug-Ins
However, I see the option in my account to "Transfer iLok licenses to new User ID". Could this be considered as a legit hack for reselling/license transfer?
Either way, any recommendations for distinguished UAD effects/instruments? I think I am covered with Waves, Arturia, IK and other stuff for most effect emulations, but OPAL synth looks interesting to me.
I think going for individual purchases could turn out to be a better deal with the $25 voucher (valid for purchases >= $99) than the x for x custom bundles if you can use the $25 voucher on multiple separate orders.

Opal is great. Minimoog is great but is interchangeable with Model 72. Electra sounds great, though I don’t own it yet. Fairchild, 1176, and LA2A are great. Lexicon 224 is my must-have and is the reason I put up with their screwy licensing system at all (which is much worse than it seems on paper).

Hi Uncle. Is that version of WaveMachine Labs DrumaGog you're selling a recently updated plugin? I noticed that some people over at gearslutz have been unable to use the product for years because of a lack of attention from WML. The product is considered long since dead and buried at this stage.

Yes, I purchased an item in the sale with a TY code and then received another TY code in my cart which I used for next sale purchase. i.e. I plan to keep buying individually for some deep discounts.SolarAxix wrote: Sat May 27, 2023 1:53 amJust making sure, after you use the unique $25 "Thanks" code (no minimum cart value) for your purchase, you received another unique $25 "Thanks" code which you can use for a follow-up purchase?db3 wrote: Fri May 26, 2023 10:22 pmYep. UAD Support said (in another well known forum) that THANK YOU codes will be triggered during this sale, so it's not so bad.Nevel wrote: Fri May 26, 2023 6:17 pmI've just used the SAVE25 and when I try to buy something else it doesn't work, so no. I am waiting to see if they'll send the THANK YOU![]()

Have you compared the UA 224 with the Arturia one? Do you find that the Arturia one is not at the same level of the UA one?

Thanks! I am considering buying OPAL. Model 72 and Monark cover the Minimoog needs. Electra is amazing indeed, but still a bit expensive.Uncle E wrote: Sat May 27, 2023 6:54 am Opal is great. I will look at compressors last since there are many I have and like to you. I might skip the Lexicon 224 as I would likely upgrade to Arturia FX Collection 4 (hopefully out next month), which should include the Rev LX-24 and it seems to be great based on reviews.
Any UAD licensing things that I/we should be aware of other than the on-paper (no machine activation and no transfer allowed) ones?

Nah - Model 72 is so dull sounding compared to the UAD one.Uncle E wrote: Sat May 27, 2023 6:54 am Opal is great. Minimoog is great but is interchangeable with Model 72.

Are UA thank you vouchers shareable? If so, I'd appreciate one, especially if you are not going to use it. Thanks!

It's the version that was released in 2010. Do you have a link to the people talking about the issues? I can send that to them and find out if things have been resolved.Aloysius wrote: Sat May 27, 2023 8:47 am Hi Uncle. Agreed. Hard to justify spending when most of us already own great Rhodes plugins. It's really just the built-in effects that set it apart.
I regularly get locked out of my plugins. Usually it's just a nuisance, fixed by logging into the iLok License Manager or restarting, but there have been several times where I actually couldn't use them. UA claimed it was an iLok issue but none of my other iLok Cloud plugins were affected.Any UAD licensing things that I/we should be aware of other than the on-paper (no machine activation and no transfer allowed) ones?

I can't remember if there are any more but this Thread did stick in my mind. Thanks.Uncle E wrote: Sat May 27, 2023 5:07 pmIt's the version that was released in 2010. Exactly. And we don't probably use Rhodes piano as much.Uncle E wrote: Sat May 27, 2023 5:15 pmAgreed. Hard to justify spending when most of us already own great Rhodes plugins. It's really just the built-in effects that set it apart.
Thanks for the information. That sucks. I have downloaded the demos of their plugins, so I will keep an eye on such issues. If it is a real problem I hope they soon make their Native plugins compatible with iLok Machine activation, as that should solve these issues and make them usable without having to keep the internet on. I wonder what the chances are of that happening.I regularly get locked out of my plugins. Is there a demo version? The sound examples are pretty great.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Sat May 27, 2023 6:08 pm Meet the RX1200, our 12-bit sampler instrument based on the E-mu SP-1200, a landmark sampler designed by Dave Rossum and released by E-mu Systems in 1987.
