How do you install FFTW on MacOS Ventura?

I've tried thrice with these instructions http://www.fftw.org/install/mac.html, https://ndworkblog.wordpress.com/2016/1 ... -in-xcode/ and these instructions https://formulae.brew.sh/formula/fftw

What happens is that the terminal windows just runs for several hours, building all sorts things, with very little progress.
