Dear Everyone!

I'm just starting trying to learn Kontakt, as in mix'n'matching presets, going to be awhile before I feel confident enough to design my own sounds from scratch!

Is it possible to save combis, like you can with the Korg M1 Emulator? By which I mean you choose - for argument's sake - 3 Kontakt instruments, layer them together into one composite sound with effects/sound balancing/all the rest of it and then - this is the bit I don't see how to do - save the sound as a combi so, when you load it back into Kontakt, it brings all 3 instruments back just as you mixed them (layered them together!) and you don't have to do the layering process all over again?

I'm the legitimate owner of Kontakt 6, if that helps with this. It's just I've never tried really learning it before (lazy-itis!) I bet I feel dumb when you all tell me how easy it is, but I'm not seeing it.

Yours hopefully

Chris.

Try "Save multi as..."

Post

As nordickvr says, Multi is the proper term in Kontakt land.

If you want to layer then make sure you choose the same MIDI port and MIDI channel (or Omni) in every instrument.

Dear Etienne.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. I know how to make them all PLAY together, what I'm wondering is can you save the combined instruments and settings as ONE PRESET in effect, so the next time you want to use the same combined sound, you don't have to do the combining work all over again from scratch, you can just load your combined preset - and all the settings are already there, just as you had them the last time.

You can do that in the Korg M1 Emulator, it's called a 'combi' setting. If you've used several instruments in creating the given Korg sound, you can give it a new name and just reload it as a combi. the next time you want to use it, with all its settings intact. Just wondering if there was a way to do the same thing in Kontakt.

Yours hopefully

Chris.

Chris.
You've already been told, twice, that you can do that in Kontakt and that its called a 'Multi.'
my other modular synth is a bugbrand
