If you had to stick to one DAW, which one would it be?

I'm like you. I work brilliant with other people, but on my own I'm just always looking for something new. So close the door on pretty much anything after a day or two - it just feels like I'm connected to a different state of mind, to even go back in and pick up where I left off.

In my case, I'm convinced it's some deep rooted mental disorder, as I don't like the idea of recording vocals on different days that playback as one vocal part - it just seems wrong to me, but then I can't mix milk from two separate bottles on my cereal lol.

People I know who do get finished material out always work in a similar approach to BONES above. They have plenty on the boil and then raise a few to be standouts and focus on them, but are regimented in that they track the status of each via a white board style list detailing what's done, what needs improving etc.

If you put something like that up where you're working it can really help to walk into that room and be reminded of where you are, and to approach those projects as a greater collection/album?

I think the best solution is just starting the DAW that you last time started, and concentrate for an hour or two working on the last project! I just don't see another solution! The harder you work and concentrate, the better the result! I think we just get rid of all the negative thoughts and start working! Of course reading about music theory and listening carefully to some masterpieces from the past can help a lot (I love the 70's songs. They are so inspiring!). Here is a nice song that is not very known except in Germany maybe! This is hard not to inspire and give some motives

It's because it was easily pirated and a great "beginner's DAW". So many better options these days, IMHO.

Slightly related: Image-Line bought UVI a few months ago. I'm willing to wager they themselves will be bought by a venture capital group eventually.

There were always plenty of better options, that didn't stop people from choosing FL. In fact, I think there are fewer options today than there were 10-15 years ago. Things like Orion and EnergyXT are gone and a few others sort of limp along without as much love from their devs as they once had.

Well just the fact that Pro Tools has only 4 votes says all you need to know about how a plug in forum fares as an indicator of the overall market. I mean my choice Digital Performer has more votes, and there's no way in the great marketplace that there are more copies of DP out there than PT.
