I’ll add these details. I’m not really a browser guy. Normally I make my own patch from an init and then it just lives in that Bitwig project, but I get that it is important to a lot of people.aMUSEd wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 12:20 pm I think it needs to be clearer about the problems with the browser. Fundamentally what is needed is for the user to be able to use the browser to author, tag, organise and manage user created content. At the moment all the work has been to make the browser good for finding NI authored content, but users can't even organise patches into banks, which makes it really hard for anyone wanting to sell or share patches to do so as they just get lost in the User list of hundreds or even thousands of patches. I am certain this has severely constrained the market for Massive X banks as third party developers want their banks to stand out and not get lost. User tagging is still very poor even after the latest update, as it can only be done one-by-one, and the tools to do it are hidden away - in practice it's still easier to do it in Komplete Kontrol despite the deficiencies of KK too.
An open letter to Native Instruments about Massive X. (Petition included!)

No, you just have to have an overinflated sense of self. It’s not easy.revvy wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 8:33 am What’s the difference between an ‘open letter’ on KVR and a regular forum post? Do you have to subscribe to KVR Gold to write one?

Yeah, but it isn’t always pragmatic, especially when you’re on the Komplete train. For instance, I needed some new sample based instruments and the ones included in Komplete Ultimate checked all the boxes in my list of needs. I could have gone elsewhere for them, but I’d have paid a lot more. I ended up upgrading because it made the most sense, but I still feel like I need to state my views on other aspects of their offerings.Robmobius wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 12:27 pm If you really want them to listen - Vote with your wallet.

Ah, thanks. I’m not a big browser user, I usually just make my own sounds, or just choose a category and use the main window to scroll though, but that is helpful. Still, that’s a UI/UX issue. It wasn’t really obvious.EvilDragon wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 12:51 pmJust FYI: There is a pin button in the browser, which keeps it opened after loading a patch, which should be helpful in the situation you explained above.zerocrossing wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 3:05 amYou can’t easily edit meta data because you have double click on a sound to hear it and then the window closes.

So you are actually asking NI to half-rewrite a product that took them maybe what, 10 years to scramble an old gem?
No way, unless you are working on your own longevity.

Do be clear i own Komplete 9. I looked on NIs site, it would cost me $200 to update and get Massive X. Unfortunately aside from a few Kontakt packs there isn't a lot i want but if Massive X was ever finished i'd be much more inclined to buy it just for those and Massive X.
Until the i have been voting with my wallet. When the news initially came out of MX i thought that would be my reason to buy.

I hate MBAs, they pay for bad courses where they just learn to feel important and not doing anythingpsynical wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 3:26 pm This is what happens when all design work has to be approved by the MBA's who have zero experience using the product.

Im sure brand managers and investors from various brands, especially those recently gobbled up by private equity parasites, would love to have more influence(control) on these forums.
Allowing 100,000s of music lovers an independent space to discuss their products without aggressive brand manager/community manager moderation & control over the forum is probably seen as a huge issue and described on investor calls by greasy-haired middle-managers and their secretaries.
