and then what? how does this get in front of the people who it's intended for? here, on kvr, it's just another thread...
i love MX, despite it's (significant) issues. but i use it to make music, and for that... it serves me well. while i look forward to being able to (for example) browse thru presets again, i can keep working.

Massive X seems to have been rewritten from the ground up. Maybe that took some of the old algorithms and waveforms, but I don't think they "scrambled an old gem." More like, "mined a new gem, but didn't do the best cutting job." No one's asking for a "half-rewrite," either. There's not really a request that would mean a big change in the filters or oscillators, except for maybe the wavetable import, but there's a lot of low hanging fruit on that list that would not take that much development time. For instance, I asked Markus from Tone2 for polyphonic aftertouch support and I think he had an update up in a week or so. He may be a one man show over there and he's got a bunch of synths he develops.liquidsound wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 2:29 pm So you are actually asking NI to half-rewrite a product that took them maybe what, 10 years to scramble an old gem?
No way, unless you are working on your own longevity.
Also, you have no idea how long they worked on Massive X. Just because it took that long, doesn't mean they spent that much time on it. Unless you were there during the development period, you really have no idea.

Thats not a petition. It has no meaning. Petion can be called a petition if it was presented to NI authorities officially. But now it looks like a kindegarden game.zerocrossing wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 7:30 pmBy choosing a poll answer you are signing the petition.
With all due respect i ageee with most of your complaints about MX.

Petition LOL. Prepare to get "air" from Berlin. Aka complete silence. Or a long fart from NI management in your general direction. And if Germans weren't so prudent, they'd print it out, wipe their ass and send it back to you in an envelope. But that would mean misappropriation of company's assets.
In any case, you get the idea where your petition ends up.

Scramble up as in terms of coming up with a right finished product as the original.zerocrossing wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 7:46 pmMassive X seems to have been rewritten from the ground up. No one knows, obviously, how long it took for the project but looking at the slow post launch development (if significantly any) 10 years seems to be a compliment
The sound is gorgeous and I’ve been in demo mode forever.
Next sale maybe…

Then start doing the same thing on FaceBook and Instagram. No one wants their faults constantly pointed out in multiple places.fisherKing wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 7:45 pm and then what? how does this get in front of the people who it's intended for? here, on kvr, it's just another thread...

Having an issue with MX is understandable, but this thread is silly at best. You do realize not one single person at NI will take this seriously right?Lbdunequest wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 7:54 pmThats not a petition. It has no meaning. Back to reality, its a plugin. Not a car, not your childs school, not your doctor......its just a plugin. Just uninstall, lesson learned, and move on

my other thought is this: what percentage of MX users are on this forum (much less this thread)?
take all the people who use MX who are on the KVR forums, add in the same from gearslutz (oops! gearspace
)... and it's still probably a tiny percentage of all the MX users in the world.
most of them are at home or in a studio making music. and a few of us are here, ranting on about whatever we rant about on KVR (so many things

This. Massive X feels abandonware, and so it feels their theoretical flagship hardware, Maschine+.

They're not gonna innovate or improve their products anymore. They're instead gonna try to extract as much profit with as little effort as possible. That's the american way.

This doesnt need to be "submitted to NI", nor do we need their permission to have meaningful opinions about their products. If NI are not interested in the opinions of THOUSANDS of potential or existing customers on a legendary, long-lived industry forum like this one and need us to "submit" this thread to them, that is their shortcomings on display once more. Really, this is a cautionary thread for them to ignore at their own peril.
People trying to discredit an opinion poll because it hasnt been "submitted" to the brand are carrying water for the worst aspects of said brand. Either the brand respects its customers, or it doesnt. Either way the poll is meaningful.
