Which?
https://www.tone2.com/icarus-resynthesis.html (wavetable resynthesis)

https://www.image-line.com/fl-studio-le ... Harmor.htm (additive resynthesis) - I'm pretty sure there are others
Tested Harmor and found it's resynthesis disappointing. I am excited by the demo of Synplant 2, cannot wait to test it's resynthesis.
I find Harmor and Icarus to be the top tier for resynthesis. I was working with Harmor now and, if you do some tweaking, you can get very nice results (at least on the types of sounds I work with).

peterdh wrote: Mon Jun 26, 2023 9:08 pm Do you think that level of resynthesis will be obtained with lots of other samples?
{short answer} ... Yes. With very (v.e.r.y.) few exceptions thus far, I've been nothing but pleased, surprised, and frequently wow'd or amazed. This is a 'major' update. :tu:
What type of samples do you think works best? Longer or shorter, more tonal or noisy ones, percussive, rhythmic or pad-like?
Notwithstanding "best" being subjective, I'm using mainly shortish (2-6-second) samples, because it is easier (for me) to select/adjust the start/end points, given the waveform space allotted. No 'pads' so far, but e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g else, percussive/rhythmic, string and/or plucked sounds, and particularly vocals, 'found sounds' (like metallic/industrial libraries) are really amazing. Noise with modulation/pitch variations, can be interesting as well. :tu:

Is Synplant 2 MPE compatible?

It seems so, in the comments of Torley said about MPE:

@borisarnal1585 Yes I'm in the closed beta. Even at this early-ish stage, it feels superb on an Expressive E Osmose.

Wonderful, thanks!

Let's hope some of the more spammy patch sellers are too :D

This thing is looking and sounding incredible!

Or a modular synth that covers all (most) synthesis methods :)

As fascinating and good sounding it is ... I'm not sure if just 'rolling a dice' is as satisfying as creating your own sound by skills you've learned and gathered over time.

The same goes with AI.

Will I be happy with something that only needed a handful of prompts (if at all)?

but it's just a sound, surely what you then do with the sound is also important.
if the sound is good, does it matter how it was arrived upon?
i love making my own sounds, but if i hear a preset that works for me, then ill use that.

you could think of it as a synthesiser of found sounds 8)

I probably will improve my sound design skills with Genopatch. I will probably learn methods I would not have learned with my traditional tweaking.
