NI Reaktor, I forgot how awesome it is

Been on reaktor for almost 2 decades , the amount of talented developers is severly reduced compared to the days when core was introduced, most have jumped to max-msp.

Some of 'em founded their own company.

Afaik/afair a guy called "Programchild" and one or two more are part of today's Sugar Bytes.

And yes, those days were inspiring and a modularhead's journey, too. Genius people knowing about DSP eventually got their Reaktor core and came up with brilliant ensembles.

There's no comparison at all to nowadays Blocks-Ensembles.

Add James walker hall , forgot the name of the software company but it creates a drumsapler and a vst host .

Mike dalliot is still at N.I.( massive 2 ) and Erik wiegand ( razor etc..)

Neither of them are working for NI. Massive X was done in cooperation with Mike Daliot through his own company (Lechtal Audio, which seems defunct now), and Razor was also done with Erik as external.

I know E.Wiegand did Razor as Errorsmith , but he's still on N.I. payroll , NO ?
He did a lot of core dsp macro's and the insanely complex MSEG

Nope Erik and Lazyfish are not there, Erik for a long time and Lazyfish since the whole shit hit the fan in Russia (he was always working as a freelancer IIRC anyways). Both were freelancers contracted out by NI. Mike also left a long time ago.

And just to avoid stirring any controversy: NI didn't fire Lazyfish on account of crap in Russia. There are other Russians working from NI. They just live in Berlin.

Before Reaktor I made some stuff in Synthmaker (many many years ago). I moved to Reaktor when they discontinued it. I'd love for it to come back with 64 bit and Mac support, so that I could build my own plug-ins in it.

Never heard of it! Gave it a try, seems pretty early but it has potential. UI is very similar to Synthmaker. Let's see how it develops...

That said, I've seen Flowstone (the old Synthmaker) is having an alpha test for version 4 with 64 bit support.

IIRC Kristy Roland (the dev) used to use synthmaker as well, and with its demise, started developing this. Here's an update:

Just thought I'd throw this out. Here is beta v0.440 of SynthCraft.



If anyone would like to get involved with it's development by
reporting any bugs/issues or make any suggestions on the future direction
SynthCraft should take, please feel free to post your comments to me here.
I'm open to suggestions on Modules, Gui design, the SynthCraft editor and
its interface as well as anything else you think could improve it.

Please note SynthCraft is still being developed so a few things still need sorting out
like the Wave Editor, polyphonic support and some other stuff.
Also, I'm seriously thinking about dropping support for 32Bit plugins.

Finally
A big thanks to those of you who voted for me in the KVR DC2023 challenge.
