Your comment recalls to mind a previous experience I had; once accustomed to drinking fat-free milk, any other dairy milk I drank after that reminded me of heavy cream.Borbolactic wrote: Wed Sep 13, 2023 8:49 amUnless you dip it in heavy cream instead of milque.tonedef71 wrote: Sun Sep 03, 2023 4:22 am "Light and easy to digest."![]()

I tried fat-free milk and wanted to like it, but it would seem that the process of removing the fat also gives the milk a taste I dislike.tonedef71 wrote: Wed Sep 13, 2023 10:25 pmYour comment recalls to mind a previous experience I had; once accustomed to drinking fat-free milk, any other dairy milk I drank after that reminded me of heavy cream.Borbolactic wrote: Wed Sep 13, 2023 8:49 amUnless you dip it in heavy cream instead of milque.tonedef71 wrote: Sun Sep 03, 2023 4:22 am "Light and easy to digest."![]()

Shades of my easy listening days! I had flashbacks of 1000 Strings music, as well.. scary..
Quite well done, regardless.

I hear you. I switched to fat-free milk for the health of it -- certainly not for its watered-down taste. These days, I'm drinking plant-based milks which taste better because they contain plant-based fat.Borbolactic wrote: Wed Sep 27, 2023 8:02 amI tried fat-free milk and wanted to like it, but it would seem that the process of removing the fat also gives the milk a taste I dislike.tonedef71 wrote: Wed Sep 13, 2023 10:25 pmYour comment recalls to mind a previous experience I had; once accustomed to drinking fat-free milk, any other dairy milk I drank after that reminded me of heavy cream.Borbolactic wrote: Wed Sep 13, 2023 8:49 amUnless you dip it in heavy cream instead of milque.tonedef71 wrote: Sun Sep 03, 2023 4:22 am "Light and easy to digest."![]()

1000 Strings -- that recalls to mind some Christmas LPs I listened to during my youth. Goodness, we must have grown up together in different places!SuitcaseOfLizards wrote: Wed Sep 27, 2023 11:18 am Shades of my easy listening days! I had flashbacks of 1000 Strings music, as well.. scary..
Thank you.SuitcaseOfLizards wrote:Quite well done, regardless.
This one was a lark; I had set out to create the "plainest", "dullest", "ho-hum", "lackluster", "bland", "uninspired", "yawn-worthy", "meh" piece of music I could put together in a brief period of time.
I nearly achieved that goal, if it were not for a pinch of dissonance and a smidgen of strings & voices to make it just a tiny bit interesting and spoil the insipidity.
Intentionally creating a piece of skip-worthy music can sometimes be harder to achieve versus doing so unintentionally -- I am more familiar with the latter.

What I meant was that the milk didn't just taste watered down. If it did, I might have liked it. Rather, it tasted sort of maybe metallic like maybe the equipment or process(es) they might use to get the fat out of it. Then again, maybe that's what milk actually tastes like after the fat. Perhaps I should give it another try in case it was simply something the company did by accident.tonedef71 wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 4:24 amI hear you. FWIW, I drink 1% milk, so it's close.

Yecch, that sounds horrid.Borbolactic wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 8:37 am Rather, it tasted sort of maybe metallic like maybe the equipment or process(es) they might use to get the fat out of it.
If that's true, then I got spared the displeasure by my taste buds's lack of sensitivity.Borbolactic wrote:Then again, maybe that's what milk actually tastes like after the fat.
If yours happen to very sensitive, then you might consider becoming a food critic.
That might be worth doing, even if only for the validation.Borbolactic wrote:Perhaps I should give it another try in case it was simply something the company did by accident.
That is a whole percentage point lower than 2% milk.Borbolactic wrote:FWIW, I drink 1% milk, so it's close.
