Haven't used Virtual Bassist Royal 2 but Ujam's instruments generally seem pretty mediocre and sound unexciting to me. I prefer to have something like Native's Scarbee Rickenbacker or Orange Tree Samples Basses for the same price.

Not cheap options, but my go to plugins are Trillian and EzBass

Yeah, all the UJam instruments are a set of patterns and a set of samples in a slick GUI, and the patterns/samples are generally from mediocre to somewhat competent, and for what they are the full price is uncompetitive. I can see the use of their drum plugins to get you start quickly, but the synth and bass variants will be far less useful.

I can see the use of their drum plugins to get you start quickly, but the synth and bass variants will be far less useful.

Ujam Iron sounds very good (though I usually put it through another amp emulation), and Amber, Carbon, and Silk are pretty good (Carbon if put through a second amp emulation), as are many of their Beatmaker plugins (don't care for some of them though).

but again I'd use a different amp emulation, like something from NeuralDSP or some of the better PA options.
