Could it be just a traffic generator for them, selling only a very small number of licenses?

It could be a TAL thing, because I've been waiting for my Tal-Drum license since yesterday afternoon, but it hasn't arrived yet

FYI there's a fabfilter scam website called "fabfilter store" which is claiming to sell the whole fabfilter bundle for $19.99 and tries to look like the official fabfilter website. They even place ads on social media like instagram, which is where I stumbled upon them. I've contacted the fabfilter support and they are already aware of this website (see below). So if you see ads for this fake fabfilter store feel free to report them as scam but most importantly do not buy anything there

We are aware of that site, that indeed sells illegal versions of our software. We have already reported their website, social pages and ads. Unfortunately it's really hard to take a website down, but we're working on it.

The IKM installer sucks but I enjoy some of there products so on a new install I pop open my vst folder and delete the stuff I don't actually own. The endless whining about it has got to be more work then just doing that. Outside of that any system that manages versioning for me across hundreds of individual products saves me time and allows the software company to be more dynamic in how they update and patch their software.

That sounds so easy but if you buy into one of their sales and have dozens of products ; its just a task to determine what you own. You have to go back and forth to see whats real and what was just installed by IK as a useless demo. I think most users dont whine endlessly but just move on to other companies that just let you install what youve purchased. In my case ,it took an argument with a user here to get me to realize how great some IK products are. Even with that revelation, I mostly still dont use them. All it takes is one 2am session going thru compressor after compressor that is really just a demo to give up on them. IK is an amazing example of a company screwing its self with the dumbest policy that make life hard for its users

It's very easy for a company to create a bad image for themselves, and much harder to undo.

I installed a free version of Sampletank around 2001. It was horrible. Therefore, for 20+ years I thought IK was horrible altogether.

I agree the forced demo installs are bad for IK's public image (I've removed a few, still have many more to check).

I don't understand exactly why, maybe I misunderstood what you guys are saying, but I use IK multimedia and I have never had a demo installed.
In Amplitube there are presets that uses demo when I don't have it but for tracks none of demos shows in Cubase's plugin manager.
