Chill out dudes, :D
Steinberg usually updates their software in December or beginning of the year
Obviously beginning of this year has past, so it will be released late December this year- maybe :D

There might be delays, this time round:

Yeah I suspect the issues with the 'direct' shop is going to be the main issue here. But if you were already expecting this in December then the wait isn't so bad. :hihi:

Are they shown anywhere else? I didn't check every page in this thread, but that link now goes to a page with no Cubase screens.

Out of all that lot there's only a small handful that interests me. 6 features that'll be useful to me - the others likely not. And a GUI that will be worse. It's really not sounding like worth the entrance fee to me. Bring on C14... :hihi:

SAMPLER TRACK...new Spectral Warp modes for extreme manipulation and powerful envelope creation - better sampler always appreciated

VOCODER - it's unlikely to be as good as the MVocoder I got, but nevertheless interesting

EQUALIZER Two new equalizers, the EQ-P1A and the EQ-M5 - depends how they sound. Most Eqs don't wow me but I won't say no to better ones

CHANNEL CONFIGURATION - Change the channel type from mono to stereo or vice versa with just one click - Yay, I like this. Way too fiddly as it is, so this is great. Some of us do actually like and use mono channels.

VERTICAL ZOOM - Zoom in and out vertically with the mouse wheel and decide whether you want to zoom to transport or selection Useful but hardly groundbreaking. I can do that with shift G & H, though it's a bit rough and ready admittedly

WINDOW MANAGEMENT - Windows-compliant multi-window handling - sounds small but could be a big improvement

Seems like a quite small update. Kind of underwhelming, but I don't expect much anymore...
At least they didn't remove VST2 support! :)

Why can't we switch/convert between mono tracks to stereo? It's a major pain to import 24 mono tracks to a new mixing session and then having to convert WAV files manually, requires a lot of steps and mouse clicking for each file... and then create new stereo tracks and re-import into the project.
I know, I can use some other tool to convert the files first. Buy why should I have to?
Other DAWs can do this with one click per channel.

HAHA, this is what i looked for and missed. I hope Cubase lets you convert the file to stereo automatically when you do this. :dog:
I change my opinion to: Looks OK. ;)

Why would you want to do this? By doing so you'll simply duplicate the required space on disk without any additional benefits. If what you want is processing a mono file with stereo effects, you can simply drop the mono file to a stereo track.

Small? Rather sounds like a lot more than any other DAW has in its paid upgrade...

Not if you do offline processing. File has to be stereo to apply stereo fx.. at least last time I tried it.
Putting mono files on stereo tracks seems odd to me. Maybe its just OCD ;)

Compared to other previous Cubase updates I think its weak. More like a .5 update. I dont care about extra presets, soundbanks and new mediocre VST fx...like "new" EQs/compressors.
Cubase is top notch for mixing but I dont use any of Cubase VST fx except the noise gate.

Makes me think...I wonder how popular Cubase really is, are Steinberg getting any young ppl into it now that they abondended the dongle?
Students here seems to avoid both Cubase and Protools. Logic is the most popular on Mac by far. For Windows I dont know though... would be interesting to see stats on this.
Ableton, FL Studio and Bitwig has the vast majority of all the electronica genre based students now.

New Vocoder, 2 new EQs, new Channel tab, new Vocal Chain plugin, new compressor, new design for the MIDI plugins, MIDI 2.0 support... sounds like loads of stuff to me, when I compare that with Studio One or Reaper paid updates.

Cubase always has been the fastest evolving DAW. And the one which always had the most legacy features. ;)

Back in the days when I got interested in music production, it was THE DAW everyone used. I'm sure it's still one of the most popular DAWs. With Ableton, and (maybe) FL Studio, although I really never seen anyone use FL Studio. Back when it was called Fruity Loops, and everybody used warez, yeah, but, it's virtually non existant in my sphere, so, I always wonder when I read online that it's supposed to be that popular.

Nah, sounds like a small update to me too. It could be considered a large update if someone will use all of those features, but most won't. 90% of that stuff is utterly irrelevant to me. The new channel tab will have to wait and see, not sure exactly what it is. Mostly fluff. But yeah, most other DAW updates tend to be mostly fluff too. Major upgrades are few and far between. TBH I never understood why so many jump straight on every new upgrade and waste their money.
