Has anyone managed to get further discount on any of the current bundles by way of already owning some of the included plugins? The text in the email I got from UAD suggests this is possible but I haven't had any response to my ticket from UAD regarding this.

I have been wondering the same. Currently, it looks like apart from the Ultimate bundle, no other bundles are worth it for me, hence I did not bother any further. The best thing here would be to indeed email UA support and see if they offer you a special discount.

Since a few bundles are already on sale, they have been removed for some time now from the account "My Offers" sections.

Hope there will be more bargain deals in the next month. I am mainly waiting for a deep discount on Electra 88.

Also, I hope UA releases some or all of the following as Native plugins in the near future:

Manley® Variable Mu Limiter Compressor
Thermionic Culture Vulture
Ampex® ATR-102 Mastering Tape Recorder
Empirical Labs EL8 Distressor
FATSO™ Jr. / Sr. Tape Sim. & Compressor

Usually in your My Offers section you have offers that may be unique to your combination of plugins.

I rather suspect that they've changed their paradigm now - they're making a big push for the hobbyist UADx market. We've had ever-wilder sales every month for 2 or 3 months, and Black Friday is round the corner.

On the uad forum, they’ve said no further discounts as it’s already cheap and any bundle purchases would mean duplicate licenses.

i get the part, that it’s already cheap and it’s fine. but the duplicate licenses confuse me. i already have 4 or 5 plugins of the mixing bundle, so if i buy this now, i have 4-5 duplicate licenses. if i would upgrade (even without discount) i would still have 1 license for every plugin

I got meeself the Ampex and the Studer for UAD-2 this year, when they were giving out discounts, coupons and more coupons like mad. The Ampex was the first one, a few days later I picked the Studer as well. When I transferred the license for the Studer to physical iLok I discovered they had also sent me a license for the Ampex the day I bought it, even though there is no native plugin (yet). So I expect it to be released at some point, though.

No worries… I wasn’t trying to tell you it’s already cheap. I was trying to paraphrase what they were saying on the forum.

A few people there asked about the same thing and were given similar responses, where you would indeed have multiple licenses for the same thing. So in iLok, you’d see 4 authorizations available for those duplicates.

LoveEnigma mentioned earlier that license transfers are not allowed.

Definitely the ATR-102. It's one of their few "absolutely magical" plugins in my opinion. There's just something absolutely awesome about it's tonality.

Agreed - and as someone new to UAD since they went native with enticing sales, I've already experienced a few pitfalls. For example I purchased a bunch of those $39 "UAD Tuesday" plugins (sometimes $19 if Thank You code received) every week over several months, and then they put a lot of them together, plus more, in a single Essentials bundle for a $50 upgrade from the free LA-2A giveaway. I could have saved money and just waited for that Essentials bundle offer, but you honestly never know. I'm not as out-of-pocket as some people who for example paid full price for PolyMAX before it was given away for free.

It does look like UAD are "playing the game" now so to speak, ie Plugin Alliance / Waves sale tactics with fluctuating prices, freebie loss leaders and upgrades etc. I'll be more careful with UAD sales from now on, especially with Black Friday coming.

Can't complain much though as I'm enjoying what they have to offer and hey, no one is forcing me to reach for the credit card
