One interesting way to use real-time record is the way it is done in Studio One using the "splitter" tool. This allows you to combine a number of different VSTs into one humungous VST with control of the volumes of each one. Once you are satisfied with the balance of sounds you can realtime record this mega synth into an audio wave track. The drawback is that the VSTs output has been printed, so no further editing can be done.

Ehhhh... I'm not sure I'm going to upgrade. I think I'm going to .... take a break from upgrades through 2024. I had already cut back a LOT in 2023, TBH.
