Hi xbitz, thanks for confirming my initial thoughts mate but when I create a new Audio track the only inputs available are from my audio interface. Cheers Glyn.

The lower zone can be hidden and yet you still have access to each tracks mixer channel via this new addition.

All that was possible with the original inspector. No need to add another sidebar.

Actually, there are features in the channel tab that are not available in the inspector.

I like all the GUI changes. I have to sit close to the screen to see anyway.

What screen size, resolution, and scaling % are you guys using that value the GUI changes? Also are you on Mac or PC?

I actually don't like the gui changes in the project window. For me they're harder on the eye because they're white, when they used to be dark grey or black. Same problem with the mixer. And its lost the shading of all the buttons. Its bad, but I'll just have to get used to it.

And on the mixer you used to be able to long press the edit channel window which would open the instrument window without changing the selected track. This is only a problem for performance reasons but its a pain.

I can see this on macbookpro m1

yepp the white is problematic, but fortunately mac has a built-in night mode that shifts the colors to warmer tones; otherwise, I would consider installing such an app. The Channel/Inspector is nicely separated, dunno what else I would change between them(added only the missing direct routing to the Channel), but the mixer looks very much like S1—it's ugly.

ps. I would also add that you should never switch directly to Logic, either after or before using Cubase, although it still can't route MIDI to plugins, nor does it have a chord track. However, it does have the look.

It looks fine to me, but on Mac I don't have any problem with Cubase 12. It is only with Windows I have two issues with Cubase 12. First is performance and the continuous cpu spikes when CPU/GPU at recommended settings. Second is the weird menu bar imported from Mac! The second seems has been solved, but what about the first issue (performance)? Is the CPU measure spikes on red all the times?

Windows 10, 100% scaling , 1920 X 1080 on quad 27 inch monitors. I haven't yet installed in my Studio B room with 4k monitors or on my Mabook 13 inch Macbook Pro.

It's almost like the CLAP kiddies (why does that sound so apropos?) are completely ignorant of AAX, MAS, AU, DX, etc.

It's like they think Steinberg VST has existed in a vacuum for all of its existence, and won by default simply for being the only option available...

Also, complaining on a thread full of Cubase users about VST[3] or ASIO [issues] is hilarious, since Cubase generally is as close to flawless as you can get with both of those. You will get the least amount of people nodding in agreement, so you will just end up triggering yourself and engaging in an unwinnable "debate" (due to little to no people experiencing the stuff that you claim you are or have).

This is my kind of update. Workflow improvements with better tools, more routing options and a more unified interface finally with the midi plugins updated (should have been done by version 10.5 in my opinion but I'll take it) . Instant buy.

What are the more routing options? I can't seem to find details of this anywhere.

Clapping can be an involuntary movement for some disabled people, and he's equating this, by saying apropos, with people who like the CLAP format, as he was unhappy someone made a comparison with bitwig. At least that's how I read it.
