How does one become a beta tester?

Hi Jim,

I will send you the download links for the beta version, if you'd like. The secret links are the same as before, but a v5 license key is needed for the new beta versions.
As a RapidComposer user since 2013 (!) I am sure you have used many beta versions...

Totally ready for RC and AI and I think if this can do things that make our lives easier than I can't see why people here would have a problem with maybe doing a little subscription fee or credit system like a lot of the other AI softwares. I look forward to the days that you can import a full midi song and have RC and AI generate a similar track with a couple of prompts. Or remix one genre into another which I don't think will be far off considering you can do text-to video and text to image already.

I'll do my best to implement rests in the next 1-2 weeks. At the moment I am implementing AI features, of which I can upload a beta version in about a week or so.

Is there a way to export a phrase, or a set of phrases (e.g. a directory's worth) as a .mid file(s)?

If so, how is it done?

If not, I would really find this useful as my total musical software environment approaches excellent interoperability step-by-step!

I realize a phrase needs to be assigned a harmony (chord) before it can be rendered into MIDI. So, OK, the interface for single (or bulk) export would require an "assign harmony for MIDI rendering" step. One good way to do this might be to simply add another tab in the chord selector window for this purpose (next to: Preview Phrase Editor, Preview Phrase Browser, Preview Selected Phrase).

As more and more "places" are coming around to accepting a dropped .mid file, being able to generate and/or accumulate the .mid files becomes ever more valuable to workflow.

Any updates on when this rest feature will be released, as much as i'm looking forward to the ai part of Rc this is still a feature that is much needed, (rest variations)

I am sorry for the delay! The AI assistant works well for at least a week (it can create phrases too based on your description), but I am suffering with building the libcurl library statically on Windows and macOS. I realized with horror that I was using the DLL version during development. I don't want to include any DLLs with the program, I like if it is self-contained, and this is important especially for the plug-ins. In the end if I cannot figure out how to build a static libcurl, I'll have to include it as a DLL

There are customized prompts for creating chord progressions and phrases for the given genre/mood/harmonic complexity. And there is a free chat window where RC displays chords, scales, progressions and phrases so that you can immediately insert it into the composition in several ways, e.g. by dragging:



It is possible to request phrases using either absolute MIDI pitches, or chord/scale relative notes. The above phrase includes chord-relative notes, so it will sound good with a 7th chord (the notes are displayed using a major chord, don't let that mislead you)
