No, you can't buy it anymore. I wouldn't buy it anyway. The VST3 version had bugs.

You can use the Reaktor version with the free Reaktor Player, by the way, in case you didn't know.
There was a Super 8 "giveaway" recently and that's how I got it. I'm using it right now with the free reaktor player but I saw some people were saying that they also had the version 2.0 available in native access. So, I was wondering what that was about.

AFAIK, Super 8 is now exclusively available only for use with Reaktor. They withdrew the standalone version and it disappeared from Native Access/2 when they did that.

If you like it enough, my suggestion would be to use it inside Komplete Kontrol software. I assume the free promo is over, but it may still be available as part of the $29 bundle at Plugin Boutique.

Super 8 is still available with 2 months for $2 Loopcloud (for Reaktor , Reaktor player, not vst).

Nope. The VST3 version is still there, if you owned it.

They also handed out the Reaktor version to those who only owned the VST3 version, when you asked support for it.

I do remember owning Super 8 separately before getting it as part of Komplete. I also remember that my Super 8 VST3/standalone version disappeared all of a sudden at some point. I don't own a separate license now, but it is part of my Komplete bundle, which shouldn't make any difference. Can you confirm that you (still) have the VST3 version and can see all the presets in its browser as well?

I agree about your second comment.

I don't want to install it, as I already have the Reaktor version installed, but, it's in Native Access, ready to install:

I don't think R2 is part of the Komplete bundle now though, just the Reaktor version (as they doscontinued R2). I own both Super 8, Super 8 R2, and the Komplete 12 Standard bundle (don't think Super 8 was part of it back then).

It's a bit weird, if I recall correctly, I used to own Super 8 version 1, and then the VST3 version came out, and I asked support if there is an upgrade for version 1, and they handed out a free R2 license.

Thanks for confirming! When you said the VST version has bugs, how bad is it? Have you encountered any?

Don't remember which version I used (I guess VST version) but their was an irritating "Sample Rate" bug.

From what I remember it seemed to prefer 44.1 kHz projects.

At 48 kHz, it would work fine at first but sometimes when reloading the project, it would play out of tune (im suspecting at a pitch related to the sample rate converion from 44.1khz to 48khz).

That was the only bug I remember. Haven't used it in years most likely because of said bug and I wasn't aware of any fix or workaround other than to just do my projects in 44.1khz.

Yes, there is a critical bug which doesn't let you set the semi tones on oscillator 2. Instead of changing in semi tones, it always changes in 2 semi tones. Not sure how to reproduce it, but, it happened the whole time here.

That bug is not there in the Reaktor version.

chk071: Thanks for the information. Looks like it is possible I sold Super 8 R2 and that's why I don't see it in my Native Access. Since I only own it as part of Komplete now, I no longer have access to the VST3 version.

There is no way to buy it (VST3 version) apparently, unless someone wants to sell their used copy.

Hi,

I'm finally getting around to installing Komplete 14 Ultimate on my M1 Max MacBook Pro and am trying to install the VST3 version of Super 8 via Native Access. I see that the plugin is installed in my VST3 folder. However, the instrument does not appear in my Cubase Pro 13 plugin menu.

Huh, what gives? Is Super 8 really just a Reaktor Ensemble again? If so, that blows. Once Super 8 became a proper AU/VST3 instrument, I purchased it separately prior to upgrading to Komplete 14 Ultimate. I can't believe I paid for what is now apparently a lesser Reaktor Ensemble.

What is wrong with Native Instruments?

EDIT: I just noticed the December 8, 2020 release date for the Super 8 VST3 plugin installed on my M1 Max MacBook Pro. I believe this predates the release of Apple Silicon processors. So the plugin is Intel-only which is why it doesn't show up in the Cubase Pro 13 plugin menu. Damn you Native Instruments!

Correct, and the plugin is now discontinued as well.

Native Instruments have become the Google of the music software world. They create tools, once they become adopted, they discontinue them. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.
