Pretty sure the "normal" upgrade price used to be $199, not $299.
Arturia V Collection 10. Predictions.

I don't use a Mac, but on my PC using Cakewalk and Jup-8 takes half a gig in total.nevernamed wrote: Sat Dec 09, 2023 11:52 pmHaha exactly. Except I would add that you have been too generous. It is not half a gigabyte of graphics bloat it is well over a gigabyte of graphics bloat. Try loading up their Jupiter 8 on a Mac Studio display at 120%. It is 1.2GB.Vortifex wrote: Thu Dec 07, 2023 4:21 pm Arturia would take u-he's beautiful interface, stick some blinding white keys on the bottom that can't be hidden, add an enormous pop-out panel on the top, and about half a gigabyte of graphics bloat.

Half a gig is still crazy. Especially for an analog emulation when you compare to something like tal.Examigan wrote: Sun Dec 10, 2023 12:54 amI don't use a Mac, but on my PC loading Cakewalk and Jup-8 takes half a gig in total.nevernamed wrote: Sat Dec 09, 2023 11:52 pmHaha exactly. Try loading up their Jupiter 8 on a Mac Studio display at 120%. It is 1.2GB. Ridiculous. People go on endlessly about how you need ram if you use large sample libraries but forget to point out that you need massive amounts of ram to load these ridiculous UIs that some of these developers are putting out. Go ahead and try to load the entire v collection instruments list into individual tracks. I'll bet you'll be over 32GB of ram just for that. That's all UI graphics bloat. Outrageous. And if you're planning carefully to avoid getting scammed by Apple with their ram prices then this is something you should be paying attention to. Choice of plugins can really impact your capacity planning when buying new machines to produce on.Vortifex wrote: Thu Dec 07, 2023 4:21 pm Arturia would take u-he's beautiful interface, stick some blinding white keys on the bottom that can't be hidden, add an enormous pop-out panel on the top, and about half a gigabyte of graphics bloat.

I would love to see a ASR -10 with floppy expansions and have the sampler set up the same and have a modern output and vintage

It could be the 2 new instruments are modelled instruments like CP-80, Piano V etc, which would mean there really will be 4 new modern synths.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Sat Dec 09, 2023 10:05 pmI wondered if "entirely new" meant new to the v Collection or new releases not seen before. But yeah since there is a cp-80, I'd assume new meant brand new like not yet released. I guess we don't know yet what the other one is. Wouldn't be surprised by a redone wurlitzer as that one kinda socks honestly. But if the 2 redos are minimoog and wurlitzer then no arp2600 redo. Would be surprising. Also I don't understand what they mean by 4 highly requested modern synths.kNarf_ wrote: Sat Dec 09, 2023 9:38 pm So the "new" instruments will be Augmented Brass & Piano, Minifreak V and Acid V? Those are not really new of course. No new drum machine?
edit: so the CP80 is actually a new instrument![]()

But if 2 new ones means already released but not yet included in v Collection, then it would be acid v and minifreak v. But there's also the 2 augmented new instruments, and a picture of a cp80. So wouldn't that be a new instrument?VitaminD wrote: Sun Dec 10, 2023 2:19 amI imagine one of them is Acid V.Zipede wrote: Sun Dec 10, 2023 1:54 amIt could be the 2 new instruments are modelled instruments like CP-80, Piano V etc, which would mean there really will be 4 new modern synths.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Sat Dec 09, 2023 10:05 pmI wondered if "entirely new" meant new to the v Collection or new releases not seen before. I find the wording very confusing "4 highly-requested modern synths and composition sounds". Not sure what a composition sound is, but it seems pretty different from a modern synth.
I request the Andromeda composition sound please. No?

That would be a massive update all at once. I don't think they would put that much in a new V Collection.Zipede wrote: Sun Dec 10, 2023 1:14 pm Or could the 4 new modern synths be minifreak, microfreak, drumbrute and polybrute???

Hi!
This is my first comment in the community!
I'm quite an Arturia fan, but trying to be realistic, I think that the "4 highly-requested modern synths and composition sounds" will be Augmented Piano and Augmented Brass from the Augmented series (you can see them in the image), plus the Minifreak (also can be seen at the image), and the most "requested modern synth" as an addition to the V Collection should be Pigments. It gives nothing new, but it's true that it's been highly requested.
As per the re-built instruments, it seems quite clear that they will be MiniMoog and Wurli.
The new instruments will be the shown CP80, and the Acid V (the last being "new" to the Collection). I'd like to be wrong, and see more new things, as the Arturia enthusiastic fan that I am, but this is my guess:
-New (actually new):
CP80
-Rebuilt:
Mini V
Wurli
-Old, but new to the Collection:
Acid V
Augmented Piano
Augmented Brass
MiniFreak V
Pigments
As many of you, I'd really like an ARP2600 rebuilt!! The Cherry Audio's has some features that I'd like to see in the Arturia's one. Also the Modular and the Matrix12! An Andromeda should be a really nice addition!! And I'd love to see some "not so standard" synths, like the Steiner-Parker Synthacon...
If not in this edition, maybe the next one!
Quite a long first comment!! Sorry!

Seems like a pretty solid theory. I'm not sure if I agree that Pigments will be included but it kinda would make sense. There would be a bunch of second Pigments on the market if that's true!NestorElPerseguila wrote: Sun Dec 10, 2023 2:59 pm Hi!
