I don't find it unusual. Native Instruments did the same thing. Started out with synthesizers and code products. Then they slowly migrated over to more sample based products and bundling of lots of soundware.

All this means is the product lineup has matured.

At this point I wouldn't be expecting a ton of new VSTi releases but more so updates of what is already there. (and more soundware..)

Seriously? Hard pass, Arturia.

Apropros of nothing... but re all the calls for a remodelled ARP 2600, now disappointed. I was just playing through the Jean Michel Jarre tribute bank, and there's tons of ARP patches that sound absolutely 100% hairs-on-the-back-of-the-neck exact and perfect to my ears - and I'm an early JMJ obsessive.

Doubtless it can be improved somehow, but just saying that it ain't too shabby as it is, sonically.

My thoughts exactly, gg ez Arturia

They are probably pricing it knowing everyone just buys in the 50% off sale (although in this case I wouldn't bother at 50% off either)
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

$99 upgrade for me. I've already got V9, Pigments, Augmented instruments and effects. Bought Acid separately when it released and not interested in the CP70. Not sure if Mini V4 is worth jumping on individually for $49, but the Woodwinds don't interest me.

Maybe I'll come back to it another day.

I was thinking the same thing. At half off it is a bit more reasonable. That's the normal price and everything out of the sale price is the you-got-to-be-kidding-me price.

What is interesting, to me, though is apparently after you skip a version the pricing stops increasing. So V6 the upgrade is 299 but V8 the upgrade is also 299. I think the upgrade costs 199 for v9 though? So it makes more sense to skip a version, getting more and more like Komplete to me.

199€ here, and I got V9, FX3 and Pigments.
Will they take 50% off when they have a sale?

The problem is they don't even seem to be updating the old plugins at a fast enough pace to keep up and prevent the collection as a whole from gradually becoming more and more outdated.

The Arp 2600 dates back to ~2005 and hasn't had any major updates to the DSP code since. I think that's the last truly "ancient" plugin they haven't rewritten. By the time V11 comes out and hopefully updates the Arp 2600, synths like the SEM, Matrix 12, Moog Modular will be over 10 years old and in serious need of a DSP rewrite. They'd need to rewrite 3-4 of their old synths with each new V-Collection just to keep their heads above the water so to speak.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

I stopped paying attention to Arturia's over-priced upgrade offers after being disappointed with three overhauls of the Jupiter 8, all missing the authentic and proper Upper/Lower output arrangement and unison voice output assignments...which (for those of you who have never owned one) is key to making the sound of a genuine hardware Jupiter 8.

No amount of skeuomorphic GUI renderings and chorusing is going to change that fact.
