Wow so no one is getting a big break. Thats the same price they are quoting me on V8lnikj wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 6:48 pm On V9. 299. I can wait a while for 99.
Used to be 199 at release though.
Arturia V Collection 10. Predictions.

I’m surprised that people are surprised by the upgrade pricing. I don’t think it is different from the last coupon of cycles. Early adopters pay premium. The price you pay depends on what you already own. The price halves a year or so later.
Maybe because some late adopters who got some absolute bargains from upgrading much older versions think Arturia are always cheap. Or is the disappointment is driven by the perception that the new offerings are a bit lacklustre for the money.

Are they kidding? My upgrade shows $149. I own ALL their software products (FXs and Instruments) except Augmented Strings and Brass, and half their sound banks. I didn't disagree with their offers and upgrades previously, but this time is ridiculous.

Sorry. Senior moment. I'm on V8 too. Still would normally be 199 though. I could just about buy a Microfreak for that upgrade price.

Or is that these sky high upgrade prices are going to make the forthcoming £19,99 a month subscription look like a bargain.
Just a guess but everyone is doing it these days.

My upgrade price is $149, have V Collection 9 and MiniFreak V.
Really weird thing, I'm looking to see what I paid for MiniFreak V (I was pretty sure I bought it for $49 during the intro offer), but I can't find any record of an order for MiniFreak V - just $149 I paid last year for V Collection 9. Did they do some sort of special I'm forgetting about and I got MiniFreak V back then?

Right? That's my reasoning as well. I ordered a Misha instead of buying more software since they're on discount at the moment. This release needed a star instrument to justify the upgrade prices. Andromeda or a brand new full featured sampler or new Spark, even Korg Trident maybe but something. it feels a rushed update.

My guess is that they didn't finish an update to the Modular V, so instead added another Augmented sample pack. Even so, I've been paying upgrades since version 3, so that's a whole lot more cash than they're currently charging for the full price of Collection X, so things just don't add up for long term loyal customers. And don't get me started on the FX Collection.

Kind of. But Not really. Without WUP you don’t get any updates and they take away a second license.martinjuenke wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 7:21 pmYou're rightVitaminD wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 6:45 pmMore like WUP in a way. With V collection you continue to get free updates for all the instruments that are still current, which is a lot of them.
Most of V8 got updates today.
But still, not good. The mere fact we are even starting to compare Arturia updates to WUP says it all.
my update price for FX 4 is even more insulting —. I am only missing the rotary speaker and they want $199.
From an objective point of view I find it hard to find value in upgrading to X from 8 for €299.
Subjectively there is zero value. I hate electric pianos (so many of the songs I disliked in the 80s were slathered in electric piano. Yeuch) and I have absolutely no interest in any of the augmented stuff. I have no use for them at all. None. I like orchestral sounds and I like synth sounds but I don’t like these horrible pseudo 90s ROMpler sounds at all.

The vowel filter is gone from the Mini V4? That was the coolest thing about it!
