Do you mean you tried the v2.0.5?
Or just trolling?
Do you mean you tried the v2.0.5?
Fun part is avenger was one of my first synth in a mbp air 8gb/256gb, not exactly a formula 1. I used it a lot without any issue before discovering there were spikes issues (by reading KVR lol).zvenx wrote: Thu Dec 14, 2023 9:29 pm Apparently you are a fan boi lying...
(just in case you haven't been following, this is if I am understand correctly one of the latest accusations cast on anyone who the spiking has diminished or disappeared.)
This is why I couldn't be a developer (well apart from not enough dsp skills..).
I woudln't have the patience for some on kvr.. I would gladly say, ok keep your money.. moving along.

I might be persuaded by a good demo, but to add to my list of criteria, I also only buy synths that recognize polyphonic aftertouch and/or MPE, which is seems like this one does neither.Jac459 wrote: Thu Dec 14, 2023 3:14 pmWell we have all our own preferences and criterias... There are plenty of excellent products out there which basically give you ... choices. So you can go to another vendor without missing out.zerocrossing wrote: Thu Dec 14, 2023 3:06 pm I have a very simple rule: no demo, no buy. Simple as that. I’m interested in Avenger 2, but not to the point where I’m going to deal with buying it and asking for a refund if it doesn’t perform well on my system. Also, it seems like they are ignoring polyphonic aftertouch, which is something I use all the time, so if you can’t be bothered to support the minimum MIDI spec, I’m not interested.
And it is not like Avenger is for free...
But on my side and for my criteria, it is one of my favoriite synth...

Hey man, what i mean is that the settings of those 3 keyboard sliders in zones > modmatrix keytrack effect the way any parameter (not only global volume) modulates with keytracking.Jac459 wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 1:03 am
Sorry I don't get why you need the keytracking to be independant as a source?
You just need different destinations no? For filter and volume. Also you shouldn't care about the zoning as if you are not in the right zone, your sound shouldn't play...
Yeah, I know you are an aftertouch fanzerocrossing wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 3:48 amI might be persuaded by a good demo, but to add to my list of criteria, I also only buy synths that recognize polyphonic aftertouch and/or MPE, which is seems like this one does neither.Jac459 wrote: Thu Dec 14, 2023 3:14 pmWell we have all our own preferences and criterias... Yeah I think this example is extreme...Mr D wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 7:54 amHey man, what i mean is that the settings of those 3 keyboard sliders in zones > modmatrix keytrack effect the way any parameter (not only global volume) modulates with keytracking.Jac459 wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 1:03 am

It just seems very clunky and extremely hard to tweak, especially if you want to make subtle changes of a small range like an octave or whatever.
If i was to draw an analogy with the modulation envelopes: it's like there's a master modulation envelope, and you can only get the behaviour on the individual envelopes be tweaking the master envelope, but when you want a second individual envelope, the master envelope has got the wrong setting to do what you want to do.
I'll give a "toy" example:
Imagine i have a synth sound. I want a filter to only modulate between C4 and C6. And i want a distortion to modulate only between C1 & C2.
It seems to me something like this is very hard to set up with accuracy but like i said, perhaps i'm just not understanding how the keytracking modulation needs to be set up.
Yeah I think this example is extreme...
So the keytracking should either be absolute or relative to the zone.
That's quite complex, but now I get your point.
I hope you're right!Hanz Meyzer wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 8:19 am I think you actually can quite exactly setup keytracking, also a limited range only. But you will have to use the mod matrix instead, not the default hard wired controls (set those to 0 impact). Then you can draw any transfer curve you like into the mod matrix slot.
Behold my campaign to bring it to the world!Jac459 wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 7:57 amYeah, I know you are an aftertouch fanzerocrossing wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 3:48 amI might be persuaded by a good demo, but to add to my list of criteria, I also only buy synths that recognize polyphonic aftertouch and/or MPE, which is seems like this one does neither.Jac459 wrote: Thu Dec 14, 2023 3:14 pmWell we have all our own preferences and criterias... What kind of spiking did you have? Was it the 'random spikes when playing certain patches live' spike, or the issue where avenger would cause spikes even when receiving no input?simmo75 wrote: Thu Dec 14, 2023 9:47 pm Huh? Fanboy?! You f**king idiots!!!
I was unable to use this until yesterday!!
I’m happy I can now, so reporting back. f**k off! Lol
EDIT: There was also a macOS update I installed too, i'm not sure if it was that, or the Avenger update that fixed it, and honestly couldn't care less, because it's working as expected now![]()
Pretty good sounding...msvs wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 4:00 pm
