I' reply here as I started here. Thanks for .8! The search function works well and fast. I can go back to detect retina screens and it looks really good. I haven't had any freezes so far.

I'd still like to know how to make a boolean search on multiple tags if its possible.

Otherwise, v5 is the best version so far and thanks for the work and making sure the basics work.

RapidComposer v5.1b2 is available!

Improvements:

• Phrase Editor CC editing menu: insert CC browser selection
• Phrase Editor: fixed rubber-box selection when editing note CC's
• Better interpretation of GPT replies (e.g. when it used UTF-8 sharp or flat symbols) and clarified prompts
• AI button added for master track chord selection to get a quick suggestion
• "Bend up" and "Bend up+reset" presets added to CC browser
• Getting guitar licks and solos with bending is possible. For the bends the "Bend up" envelope is used from the CC browser. "Bend up" is created by RC but you can overwrite it.
• Copying questions is possible in the AI chat window
• Complexity menu added for AI structure suggestion
• [also included in v5.0.8] Improved searching in the browsers; you need to press Enter to start searching
• [also included in v5.0.8] Fixed when melody generators were used as ghost copies (track variations were not applied on them)
• Crash fixed when UNDO-ing (bug introduced in previous beta)

I replied to your search question in the "Using Logical Expressions For Filtering In Browsers" thread a few days ago. This is what I wrote:

The right format for searching for multiple tags:
({house}!="") && ({stab}!="")

Sorry for the cryptic syntax, the expression parser does not handle operator precedence at the moment so you have to use parenthesis...

Hello lulukom,

RC sends requests to OpenAI servers but it can use other websites, or even locally installed models if they support the OpenAI API. You can change the base URL in the settings.

I have not experimented with using local models, because at the moment GPT-4 is the most advanced model and its usage is very cheap. You have to use the AI functions very heavily to spend a dollar or two per month. And I must add that it is more usable than I first thought it would be...

super easy way to know if the AI is working or not in RC. Set the settings to "Unspecified" and in the generation, choose "other", then select absolute notes. For the prompt, type either "happy birthday" or "twinkle twinkle little star".

For me, it was correct both times. Haven't tried anything complex yet, though.. lol

It's off the current focus on A.I. assistance, but here is something that would be very useful:

Might this actually be a simple thing to do, development-wise? (moving/dropping each item in the selected collection instead of only the first item)

This will be a great help (and it's been there all along ... )

FWIW, being able to select one or more folders and do the same to add all the phrases within would be quite nice too. (Or am I missing an existing possibility there also ...?)

Being able to drag-and-drop multiples (or dir(s)) now becomes a very minor nice-to-have. I only mention it because, since we can drag a single phrase, it's kinda reflexive to want to be able to drag multiples as well, and naive users (e.g. moi) may tend to expect that.

I like your mockup ideas - the workflow/result potential it offers.! I'd feel more satisfied with this 'hands-on' approach to rhythm/phrase making. Not so keen on the whole 'AI engine' thing personally... But, we'll see - maybe it'll win me over..!

RapidComposer v5.1b3 is available!

I have not received much feedback about the AI assistant, but here is a new update.
A few minor ideas will be added in the next 2-3 days, like, did you know that it can create chord rules for you for any scales/modes? This will be available shortly.

Improvements:

• "Bend up+release" preset added to CC browser (and used in GPT guitar solo/licks suggestions)
• "instruct" models are not offered in the model menu
• "in the influence of" option added to the 'genre' menu
• Taller text input field in the chat window
• Bigger font size option added to the chat window
