Hello Attila. For a very long time, the browser has had a “dead”, well, simply unfunctional Scale (Scl) tab. Is it possible to make it so that when you select a scale from the list in the tab, the selected scale in the master track changes to the corresponding one in the tab list? And from right to left of the scale in the master track, make arrows to the right and left to select the next scale in the list .. Thank you.

I like your mockup ideas - the workflow/result potential it offers.! I'd feel more satisfied with this 'hands-on' approach to rhythm/phrase making. Not so keen on the whole 'AI engine' thing personally... But, we'll see - maybe it'll win me over..!

Really appreciate your feedback; that is exactly my impression when it comes to AI. I like to be more in control. I like to take a MIDI file that I already like and just manipulate it. My approach to music production is a little bit like how a hip-hop producer takes a sample that he likes and then chops it up, rearranges it, changes the pitch and speed to create something new but with a similar feel to the original idea. The mock-up I did gives you all of those options that you would need to be able to do this with MIDI. I think AI can be great when you haven't got any ideas or just want a little bit of advice, but I think the real beauty is when you can start with something you like already.

You do realize that after you make the selection of phrases, clicking the + button loads them all.. just saying..

BluGenes "I'm sure if this feature is already available, you would know, but I requested this some time ago. Is there an option that, once your phrase has been played (selected) in the idea tool, it can automatically be removed? For example, when I'm trying to generate different ideas, I sometimes put 25 piano riffs and 25 bass riffs in each track. However, I find that I get a lot of repeating patterns because it's playing the same piano or bass parts more than once. So, it would be great to have a feature that automatically removes played phrases.

Please let me know if this is already possible.

As we delve into the Idea Tool, there's another essential feature that could greatly enhance its functionality. It would be incredibly beneficial to have the option of syncing the rhythm across multiple tracks. In many instances, commercial music tends to embrace consistent rhythmic patterns, whether it's in the piano, bass, strings, or other elements. Calvin Harris serves as a prime example of this approach, where all components harmonize with a shared rhythmic pattern.

Therefore, introducing an option that allows for the synchronization of rhythm on specific tracks would be exceptionally advantageous, providing users with a powerful tool to create cohesive and professionally polished compositions.

Also, for the Idea Tool, where we have on each track: Phrases Rhythms Variations

I think it would be helpful to have the lightbulb on/off switch on each of these boxes.

IOW, when you like that one element and want to not overwrite it you can turn the lightbulb off. Then you could still use the Lightning on the track (or everything) while keeping that element constant.

Or, alternatively (and maybe better ?), if you highlight one of the elements in the box then the fact of highlighting it would lock it down (until/unless it is unhighlighted later).

RapidComposer v5.1b3 is available!

I have not received much feedback about the AI assistant, but here is a new update.
A few minor ideas will be added in the next 2-3 days, like, did you know that it can create chord rules for you for any scales/modes? This will be available shortly.

At the moment, all I can suggest is more room for when you enter the "other" prompt.

But, also, been busy and haven't had time to really dig in.. hopefully others can offer more..

OK, here is an attempt to get a walking bass line from AI. Result seems to be null.

Granted, I'm asking for a 12-bar phrase in a 4-bar (so far) composition. If asking for a phrase longer than the current composition is a problem, then best to flag that to the user prior to sending the request I think.

I made the text prompt taller (multi-line) in the chat window, and the "additional input" fields are bigger too in the AI menu.

It took a few minutes to add this in the idea options menu:



It will automatically remove the phrases that were selected and used from the phrase list.

I agree.

I can imagine adding a new track type, the rhythm track that has the rhythm only, which can be used by other tracks. This is on my to-do list for a while. If there is demand for this, it could be implemented after v5.1
