17 pages... Did I miss anyone mentioning the Wurlitzer V3 UI improvement?
V2: Even full screen, the pedals (knobs) are tiny.
It's good that they improved on it - even though I rarely use (electric) pianos in my music.

Just been exploring Analogue Lab Pro. I have V Collection 9 but was expecting a few presets from the new VCX instruments to be in there. There are Minifreak and Acid patches but nothing from Cp 70 or the tree new Augmented instruments, brass, piano and woodwind.
Is this correct? Are there no example patches for these unless you buy VCX?

To be fairly they normally do- it gives you a taster and the annoying 'you cant edit' window that makes you more likely to buy it, so its probably good for sales.egbert101 wrote: Thu Jan 25, 2024 12:41 pm I don't know why you were expecting presets if you don't own Collection 10.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

And I have presets for Minifreak and Acid which are V10 synths and I haven’t bought them separately. I am just curious as to why those and not the rest?SLiC wrote: Thu Jan 25, 2024 12:48 pmTo be fairly they normally do- it gives you a taster and the annoying 'you cant edit' window that makes you more likely to buy it, so its probably good for sales.egbert101 wrote: Thu Jan 25, 2024 12:41 pm I don't know why you were expecting presets if you don't own Collection 10.
As SLiC says I remember there being tasters in previous versions.

My god. This belongs on /r/iamverysmart. The scare quotes around "discussions" are the coup de grâce.Teksonik wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 5:46 pmBeginners like the MiniMoog but I don't think it's a mainstream synth for advanced users. Big, complicated, and not as simple to use or as recognizable as the Minimoog. The CS-80's place in history has more to do with its capabilities as a performance instrument and its expensive rarity.

Anyway I'm just messing with you guys. If you are still (for whatever reason) impressed with something like a MiniMoog then by all means use one. They bore me to death. How many decades can a Moog bass hold one's interest especially considering we have so many other awesome synths literally at our fingertips these days.
You'll have to pardon me if I think the notion that the MM is the "flagship" or "signature" synth in the Arturia 10 collection is utterly hilarious......
So now I'm going to go make music as I do every day. Who will join me? Yeah I didn't think so. Ok enjoy your "discussions".

Teksonik, you play guitar, don't you?
How many decades have you remained impressed by the simplistic sound of a string twanging?
The thing is, when you want a guitar sound, which is a staple of music for the past 75 years, you reach for a guitar. And when you want a Moog bass, you reach for a Minimoog. It's just as much a staple in music as a bass guitar. When you want THAT sound, you want that sound.
I would think you of all people would understand that. Many of us (I thought you included) aren't all about tweaking synths. They're just one part of a band, and a means to an end.

That's not the same thing as saying that it's the "flagship" of the Arturia collection. I agree that it's not. The Minimoog is overdone and, IMNSHO, there are better choices than Arturia. In fact, Arturia lagged for years behind much better emulations. I think that if there is any "flagship" then it's the new digital recreations, e.g., the Synclavier.

Arturia have been slowly dwindling down the presets for instruments you don't own, included with Analog Lab. Up until 2019 (V Collection 4) Analog Lab had always included every preset from the various instuments in their collections, whether you owned them or not. You couldnt do much more that pull them in, split layer and add effects, but you had all presets for all instruments. With V Collection 4 they pared down to selected presets from the various instruments you didnt own. There was quite the uproar
-- but honestly, it didnt make much business sense to give away their presets.. editable or not. So they stopped. They also stopped allowing you to resell your prior collections that had been upgraded. Back in the day, you could actually upgrade, and sell your prior version for more than the cost of the upgrade. That was even earlier, IIRC... Version 3 i think, In any case - any presets for instruments (editable or not) are a gift, for instruments you don't own, imo

Check out their usual posts and be prepared to be amazed. Some absolute gems of internet elitist posturing. You know Banks and Wakeman use new instruments too? I'm guessing Wright would too if he were still alive. And the only reason they don't call it GAS is probably because they can easily afford it and the name they've created for themselves keeps their loved ones from questioning if it's a problem.
At least they aren't endorsement whores like Rudess.
So who are the Gen X keyboardists that get the cringe from following gens?
