So I created a track with other VST to have something to work with and spent the next 12-15 hours creating an excel file there I would using the FL Studio WaveCandy Spectrum Analyzer to write down the 30 most important frequencies, velocity and duration of every single played note of all instruments in my composition, just to realize that it doesn't work because One Ping Only can only go up to 2000Hz. So I thougt OK screw it, I will do something different with it and just did the Bass Instruments which didn't need frequencies above 2000Hz. And after a while I realized that everything was uttely abhorrently awfully detuned. You can see where the title of the track comes from. So I tried my best to fix it (96 Instances x 15 Pings). Did you know that the frequency One Ping Only plays doesn't correspond with the frequency it's non existent UI displays? That explains why everything was untuned. After several FL Studio crashes I've decided to post it, because I really, really don't want to use that plugin anymore (Also because I will be away for the next week)

Ah yes brilliant !this is the true spirit of OSC or 1POOSC as you could call it this round. Not just a proper challenge but a sit down and drag your arse over broken glass and white hot coals experience XD

Hi Guys Here is my entry for the month. I think everything I have used is ok with the rules. I hope everyone enjoys this one as I think it is my best track for a while. Sorry, it is over 6 minutes but I did try creating a slightly cut-down version which I might release soon I wanted to keep the full mix version for here.
I made it using the Autruria Mini Freak V VST plugin in Ableton Live on Windows.
Re-Enveloper, Multiband Dynamics, Drum Buss, Supercharger GT, Transient master, EQ eight, Limiter, utility, Glue compressor, Reverb, Auto filter, Delay, Solid EQ, solid dynamics, STFU, Trance Pad Gate, Ozone 10, Youlean Loudness meter.

And btw. I updated my track. Sorry for destroying/deleting comments and likes. I have no paid SoundCloud account, so update track without deleting comments is impossible. But I remember them and thank you.

The very first post of the thread is updated usually on the first of the month with a link to where to vote and also a convenient soundcloud playlist of all the tracks. If you like that list on soundcloud, you can get back to it without needing to come to kvr.

Logging into the voting causes issues sometimes because it will either autofill your email, when it needs your username, or vice versa. I forget. But if I can't log in. I change it to the opposite of whatever was autofilled. If you still have issues (after the first of the month) pm bjporter. The person who started this thread.

I'm sure it is - but it all depends on needs. I pay for plugins and for internet stuff, but I prefer my own virtual server where I put my music whatever I like using my personal website. I am also using Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp and probably something else that a friend of mine talked me into saying "you must put the music on...". So for me SoundCloud would be just another website with the same content - and I don't really like dealing with it - my hobby is music and computers, not updating websites which is (for me) really tiring and time consuming job. I'm probably too old.

Soundcloud is a shadow of what it was when a first joined
They progressively removed things that people liked (like groups) and added stuff that just created problems and noise. The final straw for me, was unskippable advertising - even for those of us with paid accounts, so I've only maintained a minimal free account ever since. I notice that the paid accounts now being 'offered' are twice the price they used to be... as an introductory offer!
Someone suggested opening a free account, but just because they cheated on us contributors doesn't mean I'd be dishonest in return

FYI I get zero ads on soundcloud. I have a next pro account. I do strongly dislike the spam fake accounts with stolen pics of young women. I suspect soundcloud is somehow in on that and reporting it is a waste of time.

Minor nitpick, but the C in OSC stands for Challenge not Contest. There are some amazingly proficient and talented musicians and producers who take part and there are people who are close to the beginning of learning this very complex art. The main point of it is not to pick up a free VST or sample pack but to challenge your creativity with constraints. Sometimes those constraints are easier to grapple with and sometimes they’re harder.

This and Impedance's track made me question my track / what I did vs I wanted to achieve and Its motivated me to start again from scratch. One day left and so I'm going to produce a new track with a random past OSC VST that I've not used before and that is really limiting. Something that gives me the most joy in OSC is when I can get a free soft synth to really shine musically. I think I've picked the synth I'm going to use. I've gone for VK-1

I was able to create bassdrum (I was even surprised how easy it was without any complicated functions - I guess luck), but after I spent some time, I give up - bass and hihats are controlled by automation, because I have no idea how to alternate filter or volume by velocity in this synth.
So - good luck, you'll need it!

And btw. interesting question - if synth is crappy enough and have no ENVs, LFOs etc. (or have them, but you cannot connect them to many knobs) - is creating these extra function outside synth (by some more tricky automation) allowed?
