Their best recent stuff is, imo the Spotlight and Session series. Also some of their cinematic range such as Lores. These are excellent, sometimes best in class, though not necessarily of interest to most at KVR.

Rounds can make some *really* cool sounds (check out the Dawn of Rounds preset). It may be more programming intensive than some people prefer, but I still mess with it on occasion.

I ended up getting Molekular as well as Razor.
Spent some time going thru it with the manual at hand, and it looks like it'll be fun.

Anyway have any thoughts on Flesh? It's then only one I don't have and hard to get an idea of what it's doing via video.

They might want to fix their site before offering sales.
There's no way to contact them without an account, and signing up for an account doesn't work (email verify link goes nowhere).
Bizarre.

Until we see what that is - or nothing - I'd be wary of sinking money into the old EOL stuff.
Why? It's very cheap, and if you're on windows you'll have no problem running them for many years.

Reaktor is EOL. Some great products here, but they won't last forever. Windows ARM is the next big hurdle, Reaktor is unlikely to make that transition when it comes.
We must protect reaktor. Still my fav plugin of all time and use it daily.

I don't think there is anything we can do when they will eventually pull the plug on reaktor.
At least 1 hardware company ( stephan schmidt's non linear labs ) is dependent on reaktor, and since he's one of the original developers he must at least own a lot of the original i.p.
Perhaps he will open source it , perhaps not .
I've learned to never again put my money once the soul of the companie dies when capital ventures have entered the game .
Sad , because I've been using reaktor since v 3. and I love it

I bought some instruments and have to say the quality is superb. Crystal clear and powerful. I hope they understand it'd be a mistake to ditch Reaktor. They should market and present it better.
First and foremost: We need great songs (again)

Apparently „NI is not getting out of the synth game,“ according to Simon from NI, after a few questions (by me as well tbf) about the future of Reaktor and Massive X:

https://community.native-instruments.co ... ent_159519

He also mentions Kompanion, an upcoming experimental AI sample generator, integrated into Kontakt (X  ). This probably merits its own thread, but those are cursed and I won’t do it.

That could mean anything from eventual Reaktor 7 to throwing a few squalid synth features into Kontakt using the mediocre synth tech built into Maschine.

These replies from NI Simon are interesting:
Simon, is Kompanion the main reveal for the update to Kontakt you hinted at in your previous CPO update a few months ago?

No, there's more to come in Kontakt.

Can you comment on NI’s commitment to potential future Reaktor and Massive X compatibility updates, in case future Windows or MacOS updates cause problems with these NI instruments?

Yep, we have no plans to stop supporting compatibility updates for these products.
Massive X got Sonoma compatibility in October 23. However Reaktor has had no Sonoma update - its last update was April 23 where it became Ventura compatible. That said:
We'll be releasing a Sonoma-compatible version of Battery 4 in the next few weeks. Part of why it's been slow is that it was built in 2013, so it uses older code/libraries that are more work to update. Can't talk about future releases, but the use case Battery serves is and remains important to us and our customers.
That sure is good news. Maybe Reaktor is in the same long queue. I mean, MacOS 15 was announced this week...

Kontakt X still looking on track!

I am still thinking of getting Monark, but I do have Diva already. It would just be nice to have a slightly more edgy sound.

If I don't get Monark, then I may use those $$ for Mona from Plugmon instead:
https://plugmon.jp/product/mona/

Razor is the other one I'm trying to decide on.

By its current status, I rather want to see some other people being rebellious enough to challenge NI to build a direct competitor than to protect a company that doesn’t really listen to the users and doesn’t care the devs behind the plugin. It is tough, but I guess we have to do that instead of staying at the sinking ship.
