It would be like trying to see the difference in a 4k monitor vs 10k.
On a 40” monitor you definitely could
I couldnt kkkkkk but maybe a bad example.
We jumped the fence because it was a fence not be cause the grass was greener.

Examigan wrote: Thu Jun 13, 2024 11:03 am I am still thinking of getting Monark, but I do have Diva already. It would just be nice to have a slightly more edgy sound.

If don't get Monark, then I may use those $$ for Mona from Plugmon instead:

Razor is the other one I'm trying to decide on.
Get monark , it’s brutal , simple and sounds great .
It also has a fantastic 2pole lp and bp filter and it’s slighly lighter on the cpu compared to a blocks build minimoog running at 88khz.
I just bought Monark. :)

Since we now know the vast majority of KVR users find presets helpful...

I've been Komplete Kontrol's biggest critic. It's still bad, BUT with these Reaktor synths I think it's finally reached the stage of being Better Than Nothing.

First, Monark and Prism in particular have extra presets in some editions of Komplete, which don't show up for me in the regular Y2K synth browser - these all appear using the KK browser. Second, there are tags, albeit spread across two tabs, that does make browsing for ALL bass sounds much simpler, and you can drill down further. Third, there are now preset previews if you have them installed, so it's very fast to cycle through presets to get to your starting point.

So what I've done in my template is to add disabled instrument tracks, each having one the Reaktor synths preselected in KK, and open in the minimalist GUI view. It still feels like Monark / Razor etc but the KK browser replaces the even more terrible built-in one.

EDIT - in the KK browser you can drag the vertical arrow across now so 60% of the screen is search results, with only 40% the library images. Again, not as good as it should be but better than it was.

Wow, I wasn't even aware of that. Seems to be the same for me. Thanks for pointing it out! You can reach them through the file-tab in Reaktor, though, but it's not very convenient.

Those presets are likely from your expansions. They don't get detected/added by default in Reaktor and you need to manually browse those folders to get them. But they can be searched in KK.

That's the sole reason for me to keep KK 2.9.6 on my machine.

Not sure if anyone cares but Pluginguru has a few Razor preset banks on sale for 60% off which ends today i think. I just picked up Razor Chill for $15 which was a pretty good deal, Razor doesn't come with a ton of presets so I was glad to get some additional presets and Pluginguru is a good preset designer IMHO.

Exactly. If you have one of the bigger Kompletes there's a ton of expansions for Massive (the original even now for some reason, giving it some longevity hope), Monark and Prism lurking in here. By default KK will show them all together, and with Previews installed it is a massively quicker way of browsing. It even offers some benefit to Massive X, whose own browser is similar to KK3, but lacks the preview functionality.

I still strongly dislike the KK browser compared to the old Massive/FM/Absynth/Kore one which had such a massively superior UX, but it does serve a useful purpose for the synths now.

I'll add to that. If you would like to expand your collection of sounds for Razor I currently have a following bank at 50% off.

How many did you see? Did you mean the 49 presets in the original dropdown menu? Or, was that including the ones found in the 'Embedded' folder at the top of the menu list?

FWIW - Razor has 459 presets. 315 were in 1.0, and an additional 144 in 1.5.

I just purchased Razor and it doesn't have that many presets in my installation, not sure why. I don't have time to go count but there were definitely not that many so maybe some issue with the installation I don't know.

Nice - do you happen to know if these are tagged?

I haven't installed the standalone version though I could, I just figured it would be more confusing to have 2 versions of the same thing. In theory I could then uninstall the R2 version... don't know if the presets are in two separate locations?
