Give it the time it needs. We've survived to see Madrona Labs Sumu, this will come to pass, too.
I would love to betatest sway , been a betatester for u-he , Tal , Loomer

I was a professional hardware synth repair technician for many years, and I used to be the tech-support person at Camel Audio several years ago. (So, I do have technical support and beta testing experience.) :)

I'm not quite ready to send out a beta version just yet, but I'll announce it here when I'm ready to recruit some testers. Thanks!

TL;DW: They all want it, and they want it now. :)

Dr. Manny Fernandes (from Yamaha) is regularly in the YouTube chat and might be getting in touch (not in a bad way) - he's probably the world's expert on the SY synths, and if he's willing to share some input etc, that's a great thing... :tu:
That's great, I just watched it. Very nice to see people are getting excited about it. Thank you very much!

Yes, but I haven't implemented the SY99 effects, so the effect parameters will be translated to the SY77 effect stack where possible. And that's just based on my best guesses, since I don't own a SY99.

FWIW, when SY77 patches are loaded into the SY99, they are missing the effects. If you ever decide to make an SY99 plugin, it would be awesome if you could figure out a way around this. The SY77 patches sound different in the SY99 than in the SY77 (better, IMO) but the lack of effects is a pretty big loss.

If you are able to do a recreation of the SY77 effects, it would be awesome to also release them as a plugin

Not sure if you have any plans to do so, but that would be an insta buy for me

Hi sheaf,

Regarding the SY77/SY99 AWM Waveforms: David Viens from Plogue used modal synthesis to recreate the Yamaha OPK2 chip copyrighted drum samples as closely as possible without infringement for the Chipsynth PortaFM product, as per the manual:

https://ibb.co/s5R3m52 (https://ibb.co/s5R3m52)

Maybe this technique would allow you to bundle SY77/SY99 Waveforms with the emulator?

Regarding the firmware: David speaks about how he simulated the DX7 firmware and implemented it in a clean room way in this video @ 3:43

It might be worth contacting David for advice. He seems like a cool dude.

All the best.

A very dynamic sound which can go from lush almost analog to precise digital.

Reminds me of a k2000, but I like the Yamaha sound better.
