I'm not sure how to do that. I have a TG77, and understand using sysex to transfer the presets to this plugin (when it's available, of course). But how do I get the factory waveforms from the internal ROM into SWAY? Forgive me for being dense.sheaf wrote: Wed Apr 24, 2024 5:24 amStill plugging along. I've made some great progress, though I wish I had more time to work on it. The last couple of weeks I've been working hard on the AFM module. I need to wrap up some things and then I'll make a video showcasing it.
I'm still aiming for a release later this year. But december is looking more likely than july.
It doesn't ship with the original factory presets or samples. But it can load SysEx dumps and if you happen to have the original sample ROM it can utilize that too.Frankie.T wrote: Fri Apr 19, 2024 6:35 am Just saw this tread, will the plugin be released with the presets, or is just something like making a kind of 1:1 plugins that loads the original rom if you have it?

I asked about this earlier in the thread, actually!DocAtlas wrote: Tue Jun 25, 2024 1:53 am But how do I get the factory waveforms from the internal ROM into SWAY? Forgive me for being dense.

I think I see them. It looks like S7731 and S7732 are the waveforms from the hardware. I probably missed them the first time I looked at that page; I probably thought all the files were from the cards. Thanks a million.MCMorrise wrote: Tue Jun 25, 2024 9:42 pmI asked about this earlier in the thread, actually!DocAtlas wrote: Tue Jun 25, 2024 1:53 am But how do I get the factory waveforms from the internal ROM into SWAY? Forgive me for being dense.Sheaf says SWAY will be able to load the SY77 ROM and wave card dump files that Brian Allan (Sector101) has made available via his site. Scroll down a bit to the "Waveform Card Library" Box link.
Edit: I downloaded the files I mentioned, and it looks like they are not the waveforms from the SY/TG 77; they are two cards that have samples of other synthesizers. Still useful, but I didn't find the ROM samples on that page.

questions,
how much volume of sampled content for these Yamaha synth (SY77/TG77/SY99) ...nothing in comparison with any current sample libraries ...how difficult would it be, without being accurate, to create or recover similar samplesets to replace the original ones, conceived mainly to contribute to their RMC (real-time modulation and convolution) technique of synthesis ?
I assume that SWAY will allow the possible addition of custom samples from the user...as SY99 did if I'm not wrong ?

You saw S7731, but didn't see "SY77 Wave ROM"? If you're talking about the list of files, note that when you click on the link, you see you are on page 1 of *2* pages of files...DocAtlas wrote: Wed Jun 26, 2024 2:44 am Still useful, but I didn't find the ROM samples on that page.
I don't want to post direct links here out of respect for the developer, but basically, you're not looking hard enough, the ROMs are there.

Nice!
Here's another video I just found:

The Box folder contains 2 pages, and the second has a file named "SY77 WaveROM + Drums for Waveblade.zip", which I believe contains the ROM dump. The two files you've named are Syn Wave 1 and 2, which are expansion cards. Check again.DocAtlas wrote: Wed Jun 26, 2024 2:44 am

It's too much work for me to find/make similar replacement samples for the entire set, but it will have its own custom sample set that can be used with RCM too. In its current state you cannot add your own samples like in a SY99. It's one of those features I'd love to add eventually, but for now my first goal is to have it on par with a SY77 in terms of functionality, and then just ship it. After that I'm sure there are a whole lot of features and improvements that could be done. I'll prioritize those based on what the users would like to see. My guess is loading custom samples will be high on that list.Krakatau wrote: Wed Jun 26, 2024 4:53 am questions,

I can't speak for everyone, but loading custom samples would be at the top of my personal request list!sheaf wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2024 5:03 am It's too much work for me to find/make similar replacement samples for the entire set, but it will have its own custom sample set that can be used with RCM too.
