That makes sense, many thanks for testing and confirming.

Having to send notes to activate fixed-note patterns (which don't get passed thru the plugin) won't work with the way I use it in my setup so I'll go back to the previous version and hope that it's something that's changed in a future update. Glad we discovered that before I got too attached to the new features!

Yes, especially since version 2.3.9 does not open projects created in version 2.5.3. (In my case Studio One crashes).

Same thing happens with Reaper. If the fixed-note issue is updated in future I might try and see if both versions can be run in the same DAW side-by-side so I can check if everything works as required before transferring completely to the new version.

I love this arp! Only rivaled by Stepic.
The main issue I'd like to see fixed is the clutter on the main panel. All of the left/right arrows could be hidden until you hover and that alone would clean up the interface A LOT. It's great to have the option but the right click menu on each field helps to get you there quickly so thanks for that :)

The new skins help by omitting the box around the arrows, but would be great to at least have an option to turn them on or off :)
An option to show/hide the letter boxes (B,P, G etc) would help clear it up as well.

Keep up the fantastic work!

Hi. I see there is some activity here since my last visit.
I finally finished making a 1-hour long video manual for the BlueARP, and it took me about 2 days to make - one day to record and edit the video, then about 6 hours to manually edit the subtitles, cause auto-generated subs are pretty lame. So use English/US subs while watching, not the auto-generated one.
So I can finally check this checkbox, so enjoy, this one will be useful for anyone new to BlueARP:

I was about to post the bugfix update, but seeing some reports here I wanna check them first.
v2.5.4 is not out yet, hope to release next weekend, it will be bugfix mostly. Probably will upload the pre-release here, for anyone to check.

Thank you the for the huge efforts ^_^

You're right - I just found that ver. 2.5.3 requires an input note for "fixed key" type, while ver. 2.3.9 generate "fixed notes" when host transport runs (no input note required). I see on your screenshot that the "Input Range Filter" is set to (C -2 / C -2) - changing it to (C -2 / G8) would allow you to play fixed notes by sending any sustained note to the BlueArp input - otherwise, we'll have to wait for another update from the developer.
Do you have any suggestions, some elegant way to do this? Preferably without introducing a new parameter (the GUI is cluttered already). The best idea I have so far - adding some technical 'order algorithm' or 'missing key substitution' option, like 'fixed key only', so BlueARP will generate some dummy input key list regardless of the input keys.

Yep, in v2.5.0 patch format changed since the introduction of drum sequencer mode. Forward conversion is implemented to load the older projects, but it doesn't work the other way.

Please check it with your projects.
I fixed the issue with fixed key steps and velocity from input key setting.
I'm planning to upload it ti my website 'officially' in 1-2 weeks

I'm sure it's just easier to use the standard checkout features of the site to deliver the free skins.

Your "Stormy Weather" skin looks really nice. Thanks!

I think I checked out BlueARP not longer after it was first released. At the time it seemed a bit too "Mad Scientist" for me. I must have gotten nerdier over the years because I'm having fun playing around with it. However, I doubt I will explore every nook and cranny that BlueARP has to offer.

I know I should RTFM. But if I just wanted to tweak the preset patterns, what are the most important parameters to adjust to achieve an evolving effect (over the span of say 4 or 8 bars) that is still loosely recognized as some sort of pattern?

I see that I can set certain steps in the pattern to be "random." And then I can enter velocity and gate time random percentages that will apply only to the steps I assign as random. I see that I can also apply octave offsets to certain steps. To achieve the evolving quality I am after do I just need to set the pattern length to 64 steps (8 bars) and enter these random steps and octave offsets manually?

I'm getting some cool effects just using these parameters in a 16 step pattern. But are there other basic parameters I can use to change things up a bit without getting too far in the weeds and programming everything manually?

Thanks for your help.

Has anyone used the arpeggiator in Omnisphere? That is really, really great and super expressive and fun to use, IMO. The "trills" and slides, in particular, stand out. I wish Spectrasonics would release the Omnisphere arpeggiator as an affordable standalone product to make it easier to use with other plugins and hardware synths. I've tried using the "Capture" function in Omnisphere to export arpeggiator patterns to Cubase 13 Pro but I can't get it to work for some reason. It's probably again just a matter of RTFM.
